Recommendations for next gun...

So I'm kind of early in my collection - I have a 30.06 bolt, a 12 ga. break, and a .22 baretta pistol. I'm thinking I want another pistol or maybe a revolver next. And definitely something more powerful than the .22. any recommendations?

Actually only you can answer this question! Everyone has their own personal likes an dislikes on everything.

Go to gun shops and/or gun shows. Check out what's available, fondle the merchandise and see what catches your fancy!

Also, visit gun ranges! A lot of them have rentals you can try and that helps tremendously as well.

I vote a 1911 !! Everyone should have one. How can you say no to that? If you lean to revolver, I am partial to the Ruger GP100 in .38/.357 or if old school, then Blackhawk in .45 Colt.

Sounds to me like you need a real defense pistol but which is up to you. Glock, Ruger, S&W, Springfield and Beretta or a good 1911.. Hard to go wrong with any of those

I reccomend any good full-size 9mm pistol for your next step up. They are affordable to shoot, and with proper ammo, have plenty of BANG just for fun. Prices, options vary wildly, so the choice wont be easy...

Personally I don't hunt or reload so I prefer the mainstream inexpensive calibers. Everything I own is either .22, 9mm, .223 or 12 gauge. So I would recommend a good full-size 9mm handgun, either a S&W M&P9, Browning Hi-Power, FNH FNS 9 or maybe a Caracal would be my choices. Great for home/self defense and range use, assuming you don't plan on getting your CCW permit soon.

Really depends on what you want it for. If you want a carry gun that you can also shoot for fun on a regular basis I would say find a nice 9mm. But everyone is right, you just need to go to the store and look around. Something will catch you eye. I reccomend the 9mm because the rounds are somewhat inexpensive. Good luck!

.38Spl Taurus/Rossi 4", they're actually great firearms for the money! But, really any major brand wheel gun will be a good choice... 2", 4", 6"... whatever you want.

However, to work off of OtisM... life isn't complete without an AKM! Fixed or folding stock... they're all fun!

You'd be best served going to a gunshop and "window shopping"... your budget makes a big difference too. Don't forget the price and type of ammo your gun uses... something that can chew cheap, dirty steel case means more practice and fun for you and yours
