Really does anybody carry a automatic? Maybe a semi-automatic is what you mean. Full automatics are against the law in all states I believe.

I'm sure it's been mentioned, but if you are required to chamber a round - that action wastes time that you would have with simply using your firearm or 'covering' the BG. In the time it might take you to chamber a round, the BG could be advancing or shooting at you. I carry my SA cocked and locked, so all I have to do if I draw it is thumb the safety off.
