Pocket and car carry

Hey folks, Thanks for what I learned via my original post; "Looking for smallest smoothest pocket handgun." I have decided that I want one gun in a pocket holster, and an identical gun in my car for ease of access and familiarity in firing. I am pretty set on the Ruger LCP .380 due to weight and price, but I have a new interest...
Is there a little brother / big brother combo by any gun maker that are ABSOLUTELY IDENTICAL in regards to use?? For example: same safety on same side, same action, same mag/clip release, exact same gun... just a bigger caliber... Cannot stress enough; SAME FEATURES= everything the same, just bigger size and cal. ...
 
glocks are a great family gun you have regular, compact, sub compact same everything i shoot a 23 (compact .40) identical to a glock 27 (sub compact .40)

Im not understanding why you need to carry 2 guns, just buy a 9mm and IWB carry, when you are in you car its with you and when you are out its with you. Save money buy 1 gun and spend the other money on training and ammo just my .02

On any given day I am IN and OUT of my car 20 times in several hours carrying money, which is why I want one for my pocket and one for my car. Ease of access whether standing or sitting.
 
My Springfield xdm compact 9mm and .45 acp are almost identical in frame and slide size. Same length barrel too. I use the same crossbreed holster for both of them. Same grip, trigger, feel, sights, and great capacity with both pistols.
 
There are several "families" to be found. Glocks, Sigs, Springfields, Colts, S&W, and yes, even revolvers have Big & Little "pairs" you can get. Base it on what you can shoot well and enjoy practicing with. Most modern firearms (particularly those from major manufacturers) are very reliable with decent factory ammo. The real variable in the equation is your time investment in training and practice - leading to controlled shot placement in a stressful environment. Almost everything else (almost) is a matter of personal preference.
 
Hi Point makes several identical except for size and caliber. I have both a 9mm and a .45ACP, and the only difference is size. And weight, of course. Now folks will start telling you that Hi Point is junk. I don't agree with them. Bet my life on one every day.
 
Try a second lcp in 380 or the Lc9 its bigger brother.Neither would have to be stuck always as a second gun in the car.
Glocks are overrated,while da light trigger pull,more suited for an off duty leo -no safety.Second trigger is no guarantee that trigger wont get caught on something then in reseating you bump fire it.Recent event off duty leo shot a female who hugged him from behind accidentally of course.
My hipoint jhp has a longer stronger trigger pull but such a small safety,hard to disengage or engage I dont carry it,other than open when hunting or fishing.They do take a licking and keep working as a result they make excellent truck guns and the c9 is often carried.

Glocks are the best you will ever get in relation to having similar features in their big/medium/little brother series for each caliber.
 
LCP size would be nice size for pocket... XDs .45 would be nice size for car.... NOW, is there a matching pair in those sizes???
 
o.k. .. are you stating that lcp and lc9 are identical in every way but size, for example, safety, action, clip/mag release?
 
So far I have heard of Glock 26 for pocket, is there a smaller/=powerful pocket glock... and is there an identical "big brother" to it that works in every way the same, but caliber?
 
My short answer: G19 and G26.

Having said that, I fear leaving a gun in my car. I normally carry a G26 IWB. When I'm going for a long drive, I slip it into a Remora holster that I have tucked between my seat and center console...just behind the female end of the seatbelt assembly.

One gun with quick access in either situation.

Just me...
