Recently, the Lower Hudson Valley Journal News published a database of handgun permit holders in Westchester, Putnam and Rockland Counties. They database has been visualized on via Google Maps Link Removed. While looking through the eastern areas of the map, it's clear that there are a number of people in Connecticut that have NYS Permits. It shows their names and Connecticut residential addresses. How is this possible? I was under the impression that there were no counties in New York State that issue out of state permits? Could these be legacy permits from the days when non-residents were issued permits and have been renewed over the years? Does owning a business in New York state qualify a non-resident to apply for and receive a non-resident permit?
