I disagree. Michigan does not have it right. We should also be allowed to conceal carry in schools. The bills have been introduced, but stalled

What he did was perfectly legal, as it should be. Unfortunately he upset and embarrassed a bunch of people in a very public way. Which I suspect was his intent. He won the battle. I wonder if he helped win the war. There was legislation mentioned above to relax State law, I wonder if it will be passed now. Will there be further restrictions placed on us because of this? Will this give fuel to the gun grabbers? Will this make it harder on the legislators that are trying to help us? This is why I think it was legal but unwise.

I suggest that it is not in our best interest to scare, embarrass, or humiliate people. We are fighting a battle with a very determined enemy. Please, let's not help them out.

The only way this will help the anti-gun crowd out is by not supporting the guy that was exercising his rights. Why do they need to push for more restrictions, when other gun owners are doing a great job at doing that to each other. Please, do not help them out.

Why would you suspect that? Hasn't there been enough proof in the past for the need for a handgun for self-defense at a school? How long would the list of school shootings be since the passage of the Federal Gun Free School Zone Act?

He carried the gun in the ONLY way it was legal to do so for self defense, in a location that is known to be at least at normal risk for shooters to kill people in. Isn't that same reason YOU carry a gun? Or should he just not exercise his right to vote?

If what he did was perfectly legal... and it should be perfectly legal... then there should not be any problem.. right?

Unfortunately he upset and embarrassed a bunch of people in a very public way. Which I suspect was his intent.

Some authoritarian elitist control freaks got upset that someone would actually DARE to exercise their right to bear arms? And then those same self important tyrants were embarrassed to be publicly taken to the woodshed because they were... ummm... WRONG?

I'm happy to see the right to bear arms winning out over some elitist control freak's self important belief that everyone must do what the elitist tells them to do. Oh... it "upset" and "embarrassed" the poor tyrants by showing the public the tyrants have no power. Boo Hoo.

He won the battle. I wonder if he helped win the war.

Wars are won by winning individual battles. What loses wars is for folks to be afraid to show up for the battles and/or don't want to support those who did show up for the battle because they aren't fighting in a way some think is "appropriate", "reasonable", and "acceptable".

There was legislation mentioned above to relax State law, I wonder if it will be passed now. Will there be further restrictions placed on us because of this? Will this give fuel to the gun grabbers? Will this make it harder on the legislators that are trying to help us?

I think I've heard every variation of the oft repeated theme of.. "Don't rock the boat and 'offend' anyone or they will take away more of the right to bear arms!" But then.. battles are not won by hiding in the bottom of the boat in fear of retaliation.

This is why I think it was legal but unwise.

There is no doubt that it was legal. And I support that you are entitled to have an opinion concerning the wisdom of actually exercising the right to bear arms in a legal manner.

And I think that being afraid to exercise the right to bear arms where legal is exceptionally unwise if the goal is to continue to have the right to bear arms. Hiding from the fight will not win any battles but most certainly WILL lose the war.

I suggest that it is not in the best interest of the fight to regain the right to bear arms to avoid a battle just because it might "scare", "embarrass", or "humiliate" the people who are in the wrong. Please note the part where the folks who complained about the gun in the school and wanted the OC'er arrested were in the wrong.

None of the anti gun folks care if those who legally exercise the right to bear arms are "scared" of being illegally hassled, "embarrassed" by being illegally hassled, or "humiliated" when being illegally hassled... in fact the anti gunners are counting on the intimidation factor of all that to make it difficult for folks to actually dare to exercise the right to bear arms.

And those amongst the gun community who cast aspersions upon the folks who actually dare exercise the right to bear arms in a legal manner are the ones who help the anti gunners by perpetuating the very same propaganda the anti gunners push that even if it is a right actually daring to do it is still not......... "acceptable".
