Obama Gun Control "Exective Order"

An illegal order is still an illegal order. This will not fly with the American people. They think they have the moral highground because they can manufacture consent by presenting emotional responses, spin and no true facts about guns through their propaganda machine known as the main stream media. Then their solution is that they are going to use violence to confiscate firearms from Americans in order to curb violence. I am pretty sure this is the reason the 2nd amendment was pointed out in the Bill of Rights. Some people are indoctronated to believe that rights are "granted" by the State when the truth is these are rights we are born with. No one has "given" these rights to us which is important to understand because if someone has the power to give you a right it then actually becomes a privalege which can also be taken away. Privaleges are something given to prisoners or slaves...
This is why I've been bringing up the Federal Gun Free School Zones Act for all these years. Obama can LEGALLY use an executive order bringing this law into full enforcement. As the law is written, it outlaws all reciprocity and all unlicensed carry in populated areas.
ATF checkpoints setup in front of schools with the intention of arresting out-of-state permit holders and those carrying without a license in constitutional/open carry states are just an executive order away... and this WOULD BE LEGAL because the Federal Gun Free School Zones Act allows it.

I say it's time to remove executive privileged and executive order from the president. At least modify it so that he needs 67% from a subcommittee made up of all ruling parties.
Presidents have been making illegal "executive orders" ever since the early 1930's. I've been bitching about this for forty years and nobody ever listened. All that was stopping this idiot before was having to get elected for his second term. Now that he's got that, Obamanation here we come.

We, the USA... have become the most complete Police State the world has ever seen - Stalin and Hitler would be proud. The NDAA, NSA and their evesdropping capability, rogue police due to little fear of job loss or discipline, out of control border guards (Two Canadians Discover the US has become a Police State | Informed Comment). The US Bureau of Justice Statistics states that as of 2009, 7,225,800 people were in prison, on parole, or on probation here in America - 5% ot the worlds population with 25% of world-wide incarceration.
Most police encounters today end up being negative but once upon a time the police in this country were able to handle crime quite well and be courteous and helpful to ordinary citizens at the same time - what happened to that? Below is a short list of CRIMES and their outcomes.
#1 A Michigan man has been charged with a felony and could face up to 5 years in prison for reading his wife's email.
#2 A 49-year-old Queens woman had bruises all over her body after she was handcuffed, arrested and brutally beaten by NYPD officers. So what was her offense? The officers thought that her little dog had left some poop that she didn't clean up.
#3 A 56-year-old woman who was once a rape victim refused to let airport security officials feel her breasts so she was thrown to the floor, put in handcuffs and arrested.
#4 In Milwaukee, one man was recently fined $500 for swearing on a public bus.
#5 Several years ago a 12-year-old boy in South Carolina was actually arrested by police for opening up a Christmas present early against his family's wishes.
#6 In some areas of the country, it is now a crime to not recycle properly. For example, the city of Cleveland has announced plans to sort through trash cans to ensure that people are actually recycling according to city guidelines.
#7 A 12-year-old girl from Queens was arrested earlier this year and taken out of her school in handcuffs for writing “Lex was here. 2/1/10" and “I love my friends Abby and Faith" on her desk.
#8 Back in 2008, a 13-year-old boy in Florida was actually arrested by police for farting in class.
#9 The feds recently raided an Amish farmer at 5 AM in the morning because they claimed that he was engaged in the interstate sale of raw milk in violation of federal law.
#10 A few years ago a 10-year-old girl was arrested and charged with a felony for bringing a small steak knife to school. It turns out that all she wanted to do was to cut up her lunch so that she could eat it.
#11 On June 18th, two Christians decided that they would peacefully pass out copies of the gospel of John on a public sidewalk outside a public Islamic festival in Dearborn, Michigan and within three minutes 8 policemen surrounded them and placed them under arrest.
#12 A U.S. District Court judge slapped a 500-dollar fine on Massachusetts fisherman Robert J. Eldridge for untangling a giant whale from his nets and setting it free. So what was his crime? Well, according to the court, Eldridge was supposed to call state authorities and wait for them to do it.
#13 Once upon a time, a food fight in the cafeteria may have gotten you a detention. Now it may get you locked up. About a year ago, 25 students between the ages of 11 and 15 at a school in Chicago were taken into custody by police for being involved in a huge food fight in the school cafeteria.
#14 A few years ago a 70-year-old grandmother was actually put in handcuffs and hauled off to jail for having a brown lawn.
As we continue to criminalize relatively normal behavior our slide toward becoming a totalitarian state will only accelerate.
Totalitarian states demand obedience and armed citizens tend to chafe at silly laws, injustices, and denials of fundamental liberties.
Gun control via executive order or otherwise and it's ultimate goal of a complete ban on firearms is the principal means to quell any and all resistance to the imposition of a totalitarian Security/Police State. As most members of this forum know, the impending government ban on firearms ownership will not stop the proliferation of guns, particularly for violent criminals and gang bangers. What it will do is strip decent citizens of their God-given right of self defense.

Chafe? I'm already feeling completely raw about it all. Its the main reason I expanded my gun collection, and keep them loaded. I was always armed in some way because I didn't want to be an unintentionally complicit victim to some criminal. Now I find I have to add "or government' to the end of that last sentence.

It's still 535+ elected politicians verses 300,000,000 citizens. It you want to stop the powers that be, kick them out of office. It's the fault of a complacent populace that we are in this mess to begin with!

I have no idea what the powers that be are going to do, but forcing their ideas down the throats of the American people may not end well. If the politicos ever looked at facts and figures they might, just might learn something. This country was founded on individual freedom and minimal government regulation, but the last few decades have seen that idea reversed. We seem to be slowing sliding into the pit of socialism. All these presidential "orders"are just more proof that the government believes we will knuckle under to anything they tell us to do. They do not care about the constitution or the laws that reflect it.

Technically Yes, BUT I think it would be something they would have to undo. Like all our our built in safeguards even Executive orders can be undone with or without the President approving, the question is WILL the people needed to do it.....do it!

Civil disobeidence is the answer to whatever gets signed as an executive order. He is not a supreme ruler. DO NOT COMPLY. Remember that the number of hunters on opening day of deer season in makes us one of the largest armies in the world. The only way they win is with us to obey.

My friends , as I read through these posts and through others on the other forums and news groups that I belong to I have but one pressing and overwhelming thought: We are a nation of boiling frogs. In refference to the old adage about putting a frog in boiling water.
If our founding fathers were placed in our society today their immediate response would be to identify our "leaders" as tyrants. We are not losing our rights, our system of government is not slipping away, we aren't sliding into fascism. We are there, the slide started long before any of us were born and I believe we have finally reached the bottom.
The thought of requesting permission from a government before purchasing a firearm is NOT upholding the second amendment. The second was written not so that we could hunt and target shoot, but so that we could take up arms against the very government that we are supposed to beg permission from in order to purchase said firearm. This is something we as a nation have become accustomed to. We are boiling. If we stand aside and allow any new legislation regarding gun control pass, our children will see it as the normal course of life when they reach our age.
I have written my senators and congressman and have recieved only one response. It breaks my heart to admit this, but the truth is that the system will not work. It can't, it is broken beyond repair. The only hope that we as a nation have at this point is to pull the plug and start new. If we can't return to the Republic as it was created and toss out all the nonsense that has been passed since, my fear is that all may be lost.
I don't have the answers friends, just sharing my thoughts on this complicated and heartbreaking issue. At sometime all men must draw their own line in the sand. Mine will be drawn when an attempt is made to take from me my God given right to defend myself and protect my family. I draw my line in the sand here and from it I will not budge.
