It's expected that Atty. Gen. Andrew Cuomo (D) will be a strong candidate for that seat. Of course he is anti-gun.

"Spitzer's article resurrects a scheme from former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Andrew Cuomo. Cuomo's idea was that the federal government would buy guns for the military and federal law enforcement agencies only from manufacturers who agree not to sell "certain types of weapons" (unspecified, but presumably including "assault weapons" and many types of handguns) to the general public; not to sell guns without trigger locks, hidden serial numbers, or a magazine disconnect—features that have no particular benefit and some of which decrease the firearm's usefulness for self-defense; not to sell guns to dealers who are not "authorized;" and not to sell guns to dealers to which guns recovered from criminals have been traced."

So far we have Rick Lazio (R), but he is a supporter of Gun Control.
"On gun control. Lazio voted for the Brady law, which requires a five-day waiting period for handgun purchases, and for a ban on the sale of assault weapons. Last year, he supported a measure to require criminal background checks of people who make purchases at gun shows. (After that was defeated, he supported a watered-down bill endorsed by the National Rifle Association.)"

Rick Lazio on Gun Control

The NRA gave Lazio a D-minus!
"Lazio does not share Clinton’s unequivocal support for gun licensing or a hate-crimes law that would increase penalties for gay bias attacks. On gun control, Lazio is a strong enough proponent to have earned himself a “D-minus” from the National Rifle Association. He supports the Brady Bill, assault-weapons ban and trigger locks. But Lazio calls licensing “invasive” and says he hasn’t seen a registration program that’s “workable.”

DO WE HAVE ANYBODY ELSE??

The election is aobut 9 months away! Remember the democrats are hard at work to strip the state of NY of ALL gun rights and enforce laws that will mirror Bloomberg's Republic of NYC.

Be careful what you wish for. Andrew Cuomo is far worse than Pattersen.

Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Andrew Cuomo, has "expressed interest" in filing a HUD lawsuit against gun manufacturers.2 The suit would be filed on behalf of some or all of the nation's 3,400 public housing authorities that receive federal funding on the theory that persistent crime in public housing is substantially the fault of gun manufacturers. HUD is considering asking a court to force gun manufacturers to reimburse public housing authorities for funds they've spent over the years on alarm systems and security guards.

Not that I know of, but I agree, New York gun laws are very anti 2nd amendment. The New York gun laws
are unconstitutional also, and must be eventually repealled. What we need in New York State is a good pro
gun independent candidate for governor.

Is it time to move??

I decided to take another look at the anti-gun legislation introduced in the New York State Senate, and my suspicions were ON POINT, it appears that the majority of the sponsors to these bills are from NYC and not the rest of the state. Just like the bill sponsored by a Bronx democrat to directly prevent the newly enacted federal law allowing concealed carry in national parks.
Here's the link with the pending bills:

Last time I checked the State of NY is very large and NYC is not the Capitol and Bloomberg is not governor, but it appears that they are making and influencing policy that dictates the entire state. I strongly believe that the gun laws in New York will eventually mirror that of NYC and with Cuomo as governor, Bloomberg as mayor and Schumer as senator, gun rights will slowly but surely disappear, guaranteed!!

I saw that page come thru the system earlier in the week. That state is serious need of reform. I kind of doubt that the gangs in the city are going to worry about what Albany does.

There must be an independent pro gun candidate running for Governor in New York State. New York
has the most anti 2nd amendment , unconstitutional gun laws in the nation.

We have got to vote these anti 2nd amendment politicians out of governmental office.!! And get the pro gun and assault weapons politicians elected.

There is going to be a bloodbath come election season. Choose wisely.
Cuomo has a lot of enemies in the financial world, and he should have a lot of enemies from anyone disgusted with the Fannie/Freddie mess. Unfortunately the Dem. machine is well oiled.
What we need is a common sense traditional values candidate. The Rep. party needs new blood, a fresh face with these values and, a clean past. So far Fazio is as close as we get.
Till then I talk to friends, send emails and letters tell people to join the NRA and other shooting affiliations.
Remember... Anyone but Cuomo in 2010!!!

I never liked this Cumos father Mario. I don't like any of these Cumos. He thinks the Governorship is his inheritence or something.! I agree anyone else but Cumo.!!
