I would feel the same way in my house or my business it is my right to controll what is allowed.I have rights and they have rights.You can choose to go into the business or not no big deal to me either way and if you are concealed properly no one should ever know and if they ask me to leave it is there right not mine to decide if they own the business.The Brady reference please all I can do is laugh and I have never supported the Brady bill.The NRA is in St.louis this week and having there convention in the civic center that does not allow open carry or concealed carry.

I attended the NRA Convention on Friday for about 5 hours. I never saw a "No Guns Allowed" sign and carried concealed the entire time I was there without an issue. I walked in the main entrance right past the Friends of NRA truck and did not see a sign posted anywhere within my line of sight, and I was looking for one!

It does not have to be posted mo or St.Louis has a law about stadiums and venues with x amount of people attending.Even if you are caught all they could do is ask you to leave and comeback without the weapon and if you refuse they can call the police and it is a $100 fine......as I posted if it is concealed properly no one will know.

Not sure what you've been taught, but I was taught/instructed in my ccw class that I only draw my weapon when I fear imminent danger to my or my family's lives.

Quite frankly I do not care about your staff, I care about me and my own.

I just do all my bank transactions through the drive thru where I can protect myself if needed.

In Washington State if you refuse to leave after being asked it is trespass but in Seattle ignore a sign and the SWAT team responds.

not quite true, in some states ignoring those signs will get you into a heap of legal trouble

I work at a casino. They just put up those 'no guns allowed' signs on all doors, including the employee entrance. Now, working in the department I do, I get threats of harm, and people meeting me out in the parking lot when I'm done with work. I am a 5'0" woman, who could get blown down by a stiff wind. I was looking forward to being able to carry protection... now, with those signs, I'm trying to figure out how I can still protect myself, without losing my job.

Get a top grade pepper spray. I use UDAP in Alaska for brown (grizzly) bears. I think it would knock a human flat on their butt. They make smaller canisters for joggers etc. I'm sure several other brands would work as well, I'm just familiar with the bear stuff.

Hold your horses, you can't make that blanket statement. The legal weight of signs posted varies WIDELY state to state. Some serve a your legal trespass warning, some don't.

Also, I'd find a different bank.

Very true. Here in Kentucky these signs have no force of law so I, and most other CCers I know, simply ignore them.

I've noticed many folks saying they aren't worried about "no guns" signs because they don't hold the weight of law and all the property owner can do is ask you to leave... and it is only if you refuse to leave will you be in trouble for trespass.................

May I suggest checking how the trespass laws in your State are actually worded? It may be specifically stated that the only way a person can be "notified" is by being asked to leave... or there may be other methods of being notified stated in the trespass law, or worse yet... if the method of notification isn't specified at all, being asked to leave before being trespassed might not be how it works because those signs just might have the force of the trespass law behind them.

Just as an oddity about how the law works.... in Michigan the "stand your ground" law protections from some prosecution and civil suits only applies to those persons who are in a place it is legal for them to be. If you are trespassing, and trespassing is an illegal act, then you are in a place where it is NOT legal for you to be and if there is a defensive situation the protections of the stand your ground law will not apply to you leaving you open to the bad guys family suing you into poverty....

Everyone will make their own decisions on this issue but please folks... check how the actual trespass laws for your own State are actually worded.

I refuse to shop at any store that has one of those signs.... Why should I support someone that doesn't support the 2nd amendment? If they want to keep armed law abiding citizens away from their stores so criminals are free to come in and know that the customers of the establishment are unarmed then great! Sounds similar to the local casino here, except they don't have to post signs because firearms aren't permitted in the riverboat casino's by law.

My son's ex-girlfriend was telling me a similar story except hers ended with her quitting her job because she didn't feel safe. She said the casino would do nothing about her complaints. I told her she should have filed a sexual harassment suit.

"If someone wants to rob us we have a responsive plan in place. What we don't want is some Wyatt Earp like you trying to play security guard for us. Would you like an application?"

First, if you had a business that had a gun buster sign, I wouldn't be there.

Second, I don't think that is what he meant. I have a feeling he was just commenting on the irony of having a no weapons sign and thinking that it will prevent crime. It is probably more intended to prevent the John Wayne, or Wyatt Earp type from getting someone killed. I can tell you if I was in a bank and it got robbed, I would do nothing but be a good witness. I am not John Wayne, an LEO nor Wyatt Earp. I have absolutely no desire to get into a gunfight to protect some federally insured money. They can take the money and run, let the FBI and other LEO's take care of it. However, if they decide to start shooting, you can bet your arse I will return fire. That crosses into my protection, and that is what I carry a firearm for, not to be a hero or a gunfighter.
