New Range for Buffalo is in final stages.

Got Beretta's?
For all you shooters in the Buffalo Area,

If you have been hearing about a New Gun Range that has been in the works, then get ready for some good news.

There is going to be a meeting at the Depew Town Hall on February 2nd

If you really want a range that has 8 Rifle Lanes, 8 Pistol lanes
A meeting room, a retail gun shop, and Archery lanes and 3D range.

Then I suggest you start planning on being at this hearing and show your support.

Ken Wolcott needs your support on this to get an occupancy permit and license to open in Depew. Fill the place with pro-gun supporters.

Okay, lets hear the excuses on why you can't make it to the meeting.

Nice!!! I live outside Rochester (no public ranges). I've driven to Buffalo to visit the Niagara Gun Range north of the city and Depew would be closer to me. Wish someone would step up in the Rochester area and try to open one up.

What part of Depew will it be located in? Cheektowaga or Lancaster?

Most important at the meeting would be people who support the range and live in Depew. Of course, just because a Depew resident would like a new range doesn't mean he or she wants it in his or her backyard.

The worst case scenario would be a meeting filled with non-residents clamoring for approval of the range.

We (potential users) need to flood the meeting to show overwhelming support.
Who knows maybe we can have a meetup and go out for a beer after the meeting.
Residents are one part of the equation - potential customers are the other.

This is the site for the new Shooting Range

While residents of Depew would be nice. The meeting is public and open to all.
The Supporters of the project are needed to show the town planning board that they too would be benefiting from a revenue source that is serving the whole area.

Isn't this the old Fast Freddies?

Existing Building will be used.
State of the Art bullet traps and ventilation.
8 Rifle Lanes 8 Handgun Lanes - Archery lanes and Archery 3D
Meeting rooms for training. Retail Store etc.
The Bullet Trap manufacturer will be a Planning Board meeting to address concerns.
Safety Training, Safety precautions, etc will all be explained.
Feb 2nd 7:00pm Municipal Building 85 Manitou St.
Hopes to open by June 1

Wow!! I REALLY hope this happens! I live in Lancaster and hate having to drive a half hour to go to Niagara Gun Range. I just joined a shooting club in Lancaster so I don't have to drive as far but you can only shoot 22 or lead.

This range would be on my route to work. I would definitely hit up this place often!!

THis would be located in the TOwn of Cheektowaga. Also it is bordered only on one side by residences at that would be the backside. The other 3 sides are a business, an old railroad bed, and Walden Ave.

@Golox4 The VFW right near the village hall is a nice little bar with better then average prices. Have to go down stairs to get in though.

Yeah, the Depew/Cheektowaga thing has always confused me.
Is the VFW open to non members?

Thursday night everbody. Here is a google map

Do you have an agenda for the meeting? Is the range issue on early or late? any idea how long the village board meetings usually run?

Depew is a village that is partially in the town Cheektowaga and partially in the Town of Lancaster.

I just checked the village website, there is nothing on it. I get the impression that this is the only thing on the agenda.

OK - looks like a planning board meeting instead of a village trustee meeting.

I called the village of Depew. A secretary in the mayor's office said there were just 2 items on the agenda for the planning board meeting on February 2nd. So it shouldn't be a long meeting.

She also said the planning board does take comments from the public at the meetings for items on the agenda.

Please, if you attend and are given the opportunity to address the planning board do not launch into a 2A dissertation. I can assure you that the 2A is not going to make a difference in their decision.

As the OP suggested, voice support based on your projected personal use of the proposed business and surrounding business (e.g., after a hour at the range my family and I usually go to a nearby restaurant etc...)

But "we need a gun range in Depew so we can exercise our 2A rights and protect ourselves from that muslim born in Kenya trying to impose health care on us..." probably won't help

This thread has been viewed 639 times. If just 1% of that showed up that would be outstanding.
Leaving for Depew in about 30 minutes.

The Planning Board passed the Business Plan by a vote of 4 to 1 in front of a Standing Room Only Crowd!

Quite a victory! It was nice meeting you golocx!

I really can't wait for this range. I would practice much more often if I had a range closer to home. This range would even be on my way to and from work!

Well, it's now July and there's still a For Sale sign outside.
