HR 38 now has 189 co-sponsors. With Congress coming back of vacation, hopefully this will be brought out of committee and to the floor for a vote. If passed Trump has said he will sign it into law.
SB 446 is also in the Senate with 36 co-sponsors, pending a vote.

the GOA supports both of these bills.

The champion of government control is still beating his drum in complete ignorance. Perhaps this will be the 3rd time a thread on the topic is closed.

3 more Reps. signed on to HR 38, bringing the total Co-Sponsors now to 191:

Almost Half of the House Has Cosponsored H.R. 38

(See below how you can GET MORE cosponsors!)

Here’s where we are at.

The bill in the House, H.R. 38, has 191 cosponsors. You can click here to see if your Representative has cosponsored the bill.

The Senate bill, S. 446, has 36 cosponsors. While no Democrats have cosponsored the bill, more than half of the Republicans have.

Here are the Senate Republicans who still need to cosponsor the bill: Alexander (TN), Burr (NC), Cassidy (LA), Collins (ME), Corker (TN), Cotton (AR), Gardner (CO), Kennedy (LA), Lee (UT), McConnell (KY), Paul (KY), Risch (ID), Sasse (NE), Scott (SC), Tillis (NC) and Toomey (PA).

Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) signed on to Senate Bill 446 yesterday. That is the Senate version of HR 38 The National Concealed Carry reciprocity Act of 2017, moving the co-sponsors up to 37 in the Senate.

And again on 6/7/2017 we see another sign-on to HR 38 in the person of Rep, Greg Walden (R-OR-2) bringing the total up to 195 Co Sponsors. Rave on...

Congratulations to Rep. Mike Coffman (R-Co-6) for being the 200th member of the US House to sign on as co-sponsor to HR 38, The National Concealed carry Reciprocity Act of 2017.

And condolences to his constituents whose rights under the Second Amendment will be replaced by government's authority to regulate under the Commerce Clause if this liberty-killing legislation should ever pass.

Agreed. This is a Government land grab if there ever was one. Once this is in place, states will stop putting emphasis on state to state reciprocity so those efforts will die on the vine and with just one bill in the future rescinding this Federal Law, we'll have zero reciprocity. This is a gun control law and has jack to do with freedom.

The Place To Be

Guns, whether manufactured in the US or overseas, still cross state lines in shipping. Ipso facto, they are already under the Commerce Clause and have been for about 50 years.

d go to the heart of the states’ police power. Some but not all states deny permits to abusive partners or stalkers, or impose different age and training requirements.

The Commerce Clause is the most obvious candidate, and since the proposed bills limit themselves to the concealed carry of guns that have traveled in interstate commerce, there are strong arguments that it would be satisfied. The addition of a similar jurisdictional hook was sufficient to save the Gun Free School Zones Act after United States v. Lopez. That said, the hook here would arguably be even more attenuated, since the concealed carry bills do not directly regulate guns or even carrying, but rather the recognition of permits.
