I'm with you. The movie will go down in flames and I will boycott anyone who appears in it.

Yeah, just like Fahrenheit 9/11 that the Weinsteins purchased the rights to after Disney executives forbade Harvey Weinstein from releasing it through Miramax.

It cost 6 million to make. Grossed 120 million. Harvey laughed all the way to the bank.

He is predicting that after his movie comes out, movie goers will be thinking, “Gun stocks — I don’t want to be involved in that stuff. It’s going to be like crash and burn."

He says the movie isn't going to be a documentary, but a large movie drama like Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.

Over 100 million people in this country own firearms. More support the keeping and bearing of them. Soooooo, how is this movie going to make all this industry and the NRA crash and burn??

I saw this on Fox, and shrugged.

You know... all this publicity he's getting is great advertisement for his movie.

The last he made got the same type of publicity and he made a killing.

I'm wondering if it's not better to just keep our mouths shut about it and let it flop at the box office. Thoughts?

I'm thinking it would be best to make sure that no one in the firearms community ever watches a movie produced by Weinstein again. Don't watch them in the theater, don't buy them on DVD, etc. We need to make sure that Pro-2A folks don't contribute to this guy's war chest. We can't do that by being quiet - we do that by being organized. Grass roots usually wins out over big money. And as I have said MANY times before, we fight bad information with GOOD information. WE have to be the ones to frame this issue. In other words, we take on the Weinsteins of the world head on - but we do it quietly, in order to insure that we don't drive people to see his garbage.

Harvey Weinstein is going to make an anti-gun movie? Yawn...He'll just be preaching to his own choir. Won't change the minds of gun owners. Won't change the minds of most people. Will be recognized as mewling, puking propaganda by anyone with a single independent brain cell left in their heads. His movie will not result in policy changes. The thing is, the FACTS are what they are, and his movie can't change them. This man (and the "community" he associates with) lives in a cocoon, but deigns to tell the rest of us hoi polloi how we should live and what we should or should not do. Because, after all, he's a movie producer! Prediction: The NRA will be as strong or stronger after the release of the movie than before.
