Why do I carry a gun? Because the police might be tied up on important calls.

Man calls 911 after Subway left sauce off sandwich 14 minutes ago

Jacksonville police say Reginald Peterson needs to learn that 911 is not the appropriate place to complain that Subway left the sauce off a spicy Italian sandwich.

Police say the 42-year-old man dialed 911 twice last week so he could have his sub made correctly. The second call was to complain that officers weren't arriving fast enough.

Subway workers told police Peterson became belligerent and yelled when they were fixing his order. They locked him out of the store after he left to call police.

When officers arrived, they tried to calm Peterson and explain the proper use of 911. Those efforts failed, and he was arrested on a charge of making false 911 calls.

Peterson did not have a listed phone number.

WTF?! I don't even understand why they sent officers out to respond to that call. The 911 dispatcher should have nipped this in the bud while he was on the phone. Police are too busy going after the real criminals to bother wasting precious resources on loons such as this man. Glad to hear he got arrested. Hopefully he learned his lesson and will never do it again.

Agreed, or the dispatcher should have told the guy HE needs to COME DOWN to the station to file a complain

make HIM spend money to travel and be inconvenienced.

Probably because Reginald Peterson is a few drummers short of a full marching band.

They would have went to the Subway anyway, because he was apparently tearing the place up and throwing a huge fit. Disturbing the peace, assault, possibly battery, harassing customers, etc.
