Illinois Ban on Concealed Carry is coming to an end!

Again, the right to travel and the right to drive are not the same thing. You can't legally drive on public roads in any state without a license. If you think you can, then feel free to do so. If you ever get pulled over, be sure to let us know how that turns out.

I wouldn't advise trying it in Ohio though. Ohio Revised Code, Title 45, Section 4507.02. "No person shall permit the operation of a motor vehicle upon any public or private property used by the public for purposes of vehicular travel or parking knowing the operator does not have a valid driver’s license issued to the operator by the registrar of motor vehicles under this chapter or a valid commercial driver’s license issued under Chapter 4506. of the Revised Code." As you can see Ohio also makes it illegal to dive without a license even on private property, which I personally think is a load of crap.

Once again you must exercise your rights and fight for them. State law does not trump Federal law and when you sue and file crimmnal charges against the police , state attorney for violating your civil liberties you will see that they back off. I will leave it to you to reshearch the law. I have already won, not once but twice. So continue to bow cow to your servants and let them rule you, when you should tell them what is the law. And if you read some of the cites you will see that Judges are deemed to know the law. You keep on trusting and I will keep challenging and winning.

How I am going to love it when places like New Jersey, Illinois, and California are smacked down. Till then I'll stay in the heartland.

Chief, What? Do you mean to tell me, you do not even understand, that they work for YOU! You hold the" POWER", what did the Navy do to you? You can change things, get up off your not dead yet ass and do something. Why does your Generation, just accept bad conditions and give up? It is because of people who think like and act like yourself that politicians are able to get away with the ****** that they do. Your Superior Officers were left behind, when you left the Navy. These people answer to you and me, we can fire them, and you need to inform them of that fact. They fear an Activist that is Retired Military and can spend everyday working on their defeat, in the next Election. You have absolutely no idea, how much you can do, to effect an Election and a movement... You can bet your ass, that the Liberals do understand, and that is why, things are the way they are. So are you a Leader... Lead, follow or get the hell out of the way!

It isn't illegal to drive without a license on private property. It is illegal to drive without a license on private property if the public has the right to use that property. A shopping mall parking lot, illegal. Your home's land, not illegal.

It all starts with an idea... that idea, started in the late 1700's and I am just acting upon the Creation of something much greater than myself, The Constitution of the United States of America. If I am to be remembered for anything by my Children, I want it to be my fighting for their Right to Keep and Bear Arms, to Defend themselves and their Families. If we fail to preserve and protect that Right, in my opinion, all is lost. I only wish that, I could motivate more Illinois Residents to take more action towards this fight. All too many talk about what they do not like, but far too few, speak out and take action. Thankfully, people like Valinda Rowe and many others of illinoiscarry.com are active everyday towards changing the Conceal Carry Laws of Illinois. We owe them a great deal of gratitude and they deserve our utmost respect.

That's great. Please cite the cases where people have sued the state for the right to drive without a license and have won. Start with your own cases. Obviously there must be quite a few cases since you are so adamant in your arguments, so please cite them. Then we won't have to argue anymore.

That's what I thought too, but I'm told it now extends beyond that to all private property, and that the courts have ruled it legal to do so. I would dearly love to be wrong on that one though.

Rhino, So we are now sidetracked to whether we can drive , without a License. No wonder the Liberal Progressives are gaining ground, we can not even keep focused! Whats next, which way to place the toilet paper roll on the holder?

Do you have the cash to pay me for my reshearch? Didn't think so! I gave you enough info to do your own research. It took me two years of my time to get and understand the law. This was time I could devote to it without compromizing my obligations. Do your own reshearch. Here's some more to help you out.

First, those aren't case cites. Second, you should research your searches more carefully.

Harmon Taylor not only lost his case, he was warned by the courts more than once that he would be punished if he didn't stop filing frivolous lawsuits.

Your second link isn't a cite either. It does cite other cases and quotes from them though, but it doesn't paint the whole picture. For instance, it quotes "Operation of a motor vehicle upon public streets and highways is not a mere privilege but is a right or liberty protected by the guarantees of Federal and State constitutions." from Adams v. City of Pocatello. However, if you actually go and read Adams v. City of Pocatello, you'll discover that it wasn't about legally driving without a license, and the court was not saying it was legal to drive without one. On the contrary, the court ruled that Adams had his license illegally suspended because he was never given a hearing, not that arrests for driving without a license were illegal. That page goes on to cite other cases like Slusher v. Safety Coach Transit Co., all of which were cases about freedom to travel, not freedom to drive, and we've covered that. You get the idea.

The third link is somebody's blog.

The fourth link quotes numerous rulings and pronouncements, several of which we've mentioned, though it links none of them. But the quotes all have to do with freedom of travel. They don't address driving without a license. They also are very careful to exclude anything that may be damaging to their point. For instance, the page puts great emphasis on the writings of Washington Supreme Court Justice Warren Tolman in Robertson vs. Department of Public Works, because Tolman waxed poetically on the principle of freedom of travel. What the page fails to mention though is that the the Robertson vs. Department of Public Works decision actually ruled that states do have the right to put reasonable restrictions on drivers and driving on public roads. Oops.

The fifth link is an anonymous diatribe.

The sixth link is a bibliography for a web site, and none of it has to do with driving.

I'm well qualified at doing research, thank you. Maybe you should spend more time with yours. And if you truly intend to continue this fruitless pursuit, please provide actual, linked case cites. I have no interest in someone's blog or some web site advocating driving without a license. I'm well aware that people crusade for it and naively believe in it. I'm also well aware that some people have no scruples when it comes to cherry picking quotes from court decisions to makes things sound different from what they actually are. In other words, I have no intention of continuing to do your research for you and finding the cases myself, as I just had to do with the cases above. Give us actual court case decisions that we can go read, not just quotes from them.

Rhino, your starting to look like a troll who wants others to do your work. Let me tell you when I say do your own reshearch or pay me for mine. I meant it. It has become evident to me that you really do not know how to take something and run with it, to make it happen. If you are what our education system has turned out in the years since I went to school, we are in real trouble as a nation. You have do to some things on your own to get the benefit of it.

Thanks. I needed a good laugh!

And there's only one "h" in research by the way.

Keep laughing as you give up more rights without having ever won a fight. You have now confirmed you do not know how things work. My bet is you never served this country. You have no links to confirm or back up your your statements. So untill you match the thicknesss of your avatars skin. You are an imposter who is not as savey as eagleeyes who makes like a duck and lets it roll off her back. You are thin skinned and my bet is your on the dole or most definately will be soon. So having dealt with your kind in the past on other forums. I will ignore you untill you pay me for my bound research that attorney's buy and advise me of the changes in case law. ( I have yet to be advised that the law has changed) Remember definitions! I am not sitting on the sidelines but fighting for rights you do not even realize you have. The 2nd Amendment is but one of the protectors ofother rights that most do not know they have. So whiz thru and do not take the time to truely analyze and continue being indentured thru conditioning.

The true goal must be to have all states issue CCW permits which are good in every state in the U.S.
After all, criminals carry guns all around the country, time that we do too. Until enough people are
legally armed and able to CCW criminals will do as they wish. Look at Chicago now with gang members
and other criminals shooting people all the time. We need 50 state carry permits.

:dance3:

Look at Chicago now with gang members
and other criminals in the city council.
There, fixed that for you.

The Chicago city council is packed full of former (and likely present) gang members and other assorted criminals.

The idea of NON-criminals being able to defend themselves from their past and present associates doubtless sends shivers up their collective spines.
