I always read about all the stuff you are supposed to have on hand in an emergency, you just never here what you are supposed to keep it in. I was thinking of using a Plano trunk(looks like a giant suitcase) for the odds and ends. Anybody got a different suggestions? Thanks

If it's an emergency kit that needs to be mobile, then you want something that is easy to carry and light weight, like a range bag, duffle bag, knapsack, etc.

If you want something that really protects your equipment while you are hunkering down in your own place you want something that is waterproof. Your suggestion of some of the Plano products is good. Chen, your suggestion of the plastic buckets is good too. They are high enough that if there was flooding you could easily carry them to an area of the house that wasn't under water.

This is a very nice suggestion: Hardigg® Hard Plastic Waterproof Storage Chest, with Wheels - $149.00 :: Colemans Military Surplus LLC - Your one-stop US and European Army/Navy surplus store with products for hunting, camping, emergency preparedness, and survival gear
