I couldn't tell if it was a criticism or an admission he was unaware that it was a perfectly good use of slang that has developed out of the still-young internet. The second definition at the link he gave said that "The Interwebs is identical in meaning to the other terms," so he obviously either didn't read his own link, or he was admitting to not knowing the word.
