Drying a pistol in the clothes dryer

I just bought an ultrasonic cleaner for my new Sig Sauer P226. There are lots of great articles and videos about using an ultrasonic cleaner. Most suggest air drying, compressed air or a hair dryer. I have even seen the suggestion to use the oven.

We have an accessory for our clothes dryer that I think may be the perfect solution. It is a rack that mounts inside the dryer. It is intended for drying wet sneakers. The sneakers remain stationary on the rack while the drum spins. No more bowling ball in the dryer effect. I am thinking I can lay a towel over the rack and then lay the gun parts on the towel and then run on low heat. What do you think?

I've always used air pressure from the compressor after a dip. I'm sure your ultrasonic manufacturer offers a lube solution. Just blow the gun off as best as you can, chuck it in the lube bath for about 30 sec. then blow it dry again. The lube bath will displace any water you may have missed with the blow gun.

I don't think I would trust my gun in a rotating anything.

Put the part son a baking sheet and place in the oven on the lowest setting for 20 min turn off oven hen retrieve when cool. Spray with C.L.P. then reassemble.

NEVER use canned air. It is compressed using thing like CO2 that are COLD thus when sprayed on room temp metal are actually adding moisture. This is also true of a compressor unless you have a good air dryer on it. A hair dryer can work but unless you really pay attention you can leave no through holes and other places wet.

Ok I'll go with that, ^^ as I never do anything but clean mine with frog lube so I will go along with you, but I do use about a can and 1/2 to clean my computer every couple of months and never had any moisture problems so I figured it cant hurt.
But I think I understand what your saying, like using prolong burst and getting things cold.
