So I'm thinking about going back into coyote hunting what's the best gun out now days for coyote

I think you would be fine with a .243 and up. I do know at 250 yards, shoot one with a .300 win mag.......they stretch almost two feet.

I use a .223 and have killed several with no problem!
One was a head shot a 220 yards!
I reload 55gr V-max.

Unless you are just looking for a reason to purchase another rifle, which is fine, any centerfire rifle will kill them dead!!
Depending on where you are at and whether or not you plan on saving the fur, you may keep your selection the .223 or 22-250.
Other wise, I have never seen a coyote too dead!!

.223 is a good Coyote round. I've used shotgun before as well, but you really need to have a good call and some patience.

Just got back into calling them last yr. killed 4 but haven't had any luck this yr go fig. I hunt with a 22 hornet were i live its not to safe to use a bigger cal. ( to many close farms. But the hornet does ok.
