Conceal carry for wife "staging" behavior

My wife is new to handguns and I know I'm in for a interesting behavior shift as I press her to do a conceal carry class but also to carry afterward. I don't think the class will be a hard sale, just the behavior and point of the class. She is excited about the range time we are spending together so again not so much a phobia type thing. The thing is she works we're legally she is not supposed to carry. She works at times at late hours then some times has to walk several blocks to the car then drives a good distance home. What are some good rules of thumb, suggestions and ways of staging this for her to make this her own choice not me pushing her. Thanks

I Was all set to throw in my 2cents worth till I see this " The thing is she works we're legally she is not supposed to carry." That is a whole new can of worms.

1. Does she like where she works? yes= go by there rules. no= be ready to find a new job if shes caught.

2. Not everyone that is able carries everywhere, so you might want to see if shes interested in some self defense classes, so she can keep work happy and still be able to get away if anything where to ever happen. (I really hope it never does.)

3. "behavior shift as I press her to do a conceal carry class" I'm not sure how old you are but take a bit of advice, as much as you want her to take the class and carry, don't press her into it, offer to go to the class with her, pay to have a instructor come to your home and teach her, do anything you can to make it about her (not what you want) and always be ready to back off and rethink what your trying to do.

What's right for you and I and many others may not be right for our spouses.

This is free advice, it's worth exactly what you paid for it.
Good luck in your decision.

Conceal carry for wife "staging" behavior

Thanks for the pointers, much of what I was thinking but wanted just to see if what rattles around in my head makes sense. I don't ever press her unless it is overly important. 17 years of marriage puts a lot of water under the bridge. I've learn that point well. Will look into the defense classes as well as a family thing.

Nobody else usually looks in a woman's purse or computer case. As long as she is diciplined about keeping the purse, computer case, and her mouth shut about the handgun, everything should be fine.

I know several hookers who regularly carry concealed without a LTC. And hookers have the most dangerous job environments of any woman.

You can get some pretty good compartmentalized Samsonite computer cases, and use the compartment on the top front outside for the gun and nothing else, and always keep it zipped until outside of the building.

The state government and/or the job site is more than willing to sacrifice an employee for the perceived greater good of their population. So what you always need to do is decide whether your dirt-bag state or company is worth dying for. The answer should be obvious.

States and companies have totally lost control of crime within their jurisdictions. So you always need to take appropriate countermeasures.
