Compact carry like my Taurus 917

I purchased a new Taurus 917 that I really like. This is my first personal handgun that I have been using at the range. I put 700 or so rounds through it without a single malfunction. Seems accurate other than the rare down to the left from my trigger pull. I think it looks pretty darn good too.

Having said, that I am really happy with the Taurus brand and this gun but want to get a compact model for possible future cc. I take the course on 2/12.

Here's my question, I really like the decocker feature on this gun and would think that would be desirable in a carry model. At this point I'm not interested in carrying a 1911 cocked and locked. Yet, I still like the manual thumb safety not found on glocks. What models seem to fit the mold of having a DA/SA with a decocker and thumb safety in the compact carry form. I kind of prefer all metal but open to polymer types.

Or, is my above thought process misinformed?

Also, is removing the ejector something a gunsmith has to do in order to re-seat it? I'd like to clean behind there as I seem to be getting some residue build up but don't want to punch the pin out if it won't stay put when reassembled.
Thanks. First post so any advice is appreciated.
