Civil discourse would require a discussion, FireRunner doesn't seem to want that. Instead of arguing his opinion, he opted for crying foul. So, I am asking again:
The 'it's for the children' cry comes always from the gun control crowd. Your post just mimics that and is nonsensical as well. How can bringing a weapon into a library be dangerous? Care to explain your opinion?

A primary reason the anti-gun lobby is so strident is because the pro-gun lobby stonewalled and refused reasonable efforts to limit access to individuals who were mentally unstable or criminally inclined. Admittedly, the anti-gun side has proposed some monumentally stupid things. It always takes at least two non-compromising parties to create truly screwed up mess.

Let me explain, for the benefit of others how compromise works. Compromise means that both sides give a little. So....let's say I have $100. And you tell me to give you my $100. So, if I say, "Well, how about if I just give you $50 instead?" You say, "Sure, that's great!" Have we compromised? No, not one bit... sure- you only got half of what you asked for, but I lost $50 of mine that I should have never lost to begin with.
It's the same with gun control....according to you, "compromise" is when we voluntarily give them only part of what they ask for. That's not compromise at all because the only side that loses anything is the pro-gun side that rolled over to them. You would rather give them a little bit this year, then a little bit next year, then a little bit next year - because that is "compromising". When, in reality, what it is is you giving away your rights - albeit a little bit at a time. You see, the anti-gun crowd isn't going to stop because we give them a fraction of what they ask for this year. They are going to keep at it until we are in exactly the same condition as Great Britain in regards to firearms and the blame will solidly be upon people like you and FireRunner with your "reasonable compromises".

All those reasonable efforts do is make sure that gun owners will not seek help or treatment for mental health issues. At least you are making the first step in acknowledging that there is a mental health problem.

Not sure what you are implying here, but I guess that is the point. You are not making any arguments, just rambling on. If you care to discuss, I know the history behind my statements quite well, through personal experience and family experience.
