CCW from AZ to NV

Heading to Nevada for my anniversary next month. Preliminary investigation says my CCW permit is honored there. I plan on carrying a VERY TINY (NAA Guardian .32) gun just to make sure all trouble is avoided.

What do I need to know? I'm feeling something is likely unknown to me, as AZ gun laws are so open.

Tips? Suggestions? Interesting trivia?

Hum? (DPS to driver: Do you have a handgun? Driver: Oh, it is just a single shot. DPS: Thank a god. [ DPS to driver: Do you have any really large guns that might scare me? Driver: Oh, no I only have a .22 short. DPS: Wow, I sure was scared,]). Google search. Call Nevada DPS. Last year, while visiting in Nevada I asked a clerk at a great gun store about this. He said, at that time, Nevada did not recognize Arizona for CCW purposes. Why would size (Other than the very matter?)

You asked a clerk in a gun store what permits Nevada recognizes? The three biggest sources of misinformation regarding firearms laws continue to prove themselves to be police officers, CCW instructors, and gun store employees, in no particular order.

He was a retired Sheriff's Deputy working part time in this sporting goods store. One of the best I have seen. I did not bet my life on his info. I guess he fit two of the three you listed. Just a little FYI.

Other than checking the laws, I would put a call into the local sheriff's department there and just make sure that everyone is on the same page. Be polite and tell them you carry for protection and just want to make sure you don't violate any laws. Sure, law enforcement can provide misinformation, but adding that on top of your due diligence will be a good touch and you can always get the info of the person you speak with and drop a name if you run into any trouble. The fact that you called ahead and checked could actually come up if something happens and they will be appreciative of that.

I checked the laws on several gun websites and the Nevada state trooper website. They all agree that Nevada has pretty good laws now and the only official places that CCW is disallowed are a few government buildings. Even then, they are clearly marked and it's not ALL government buildings. I have no plans on going to anything government.

I guess these are my questions, which I haven't found an answer to yet:

In AZ, there are a lot of big retail chains who forbid CCW on their premesis. Is it the same in NV?

Casinos have big money. I plan on staying at one because the buffets and rooms are supposed to be really cheap. Do casinos have metal detectors?

We plan on going to see a couple of shows. Is CCW forbidden there? Do they search people/purses? Metal detectors?

As for the small firearm, I was going to bring my NAA Guardian .32 because I'd like to avoid attention if I accidentally stumble into a CCW-Free zone.

Clark county was the last gun-control bastion in NV to fall to state preemption. What have the anti-gun people and businesses done so they won't wet themselves every five minutes?

Those types of things would really help me out. From what I'm reading, there isn't much of a difference at all between NV and AZ. I just like to be sure.

And you are willing to reduce your resources to defend yourself with for that? The protection of my family and myself come first, not the consideration that some business owner my go into convulsions if they get a peek at my gun.

Casinos do not permit weapons.
That's one place where security is not an issue. I wouldn't worry about my safety in one. Other places in Vegas, not so much. Those cheap buffets and rooms are a thing of the past unless you are a regular and get comped. On the other hand the Silver Sevens Casino has some fair values off strip near UNLV. Used to be Terrible's Casino where prime rib 16 oz was $9.99. Not any more.

Safe Casinos?

I guess you didn't hear about the fight in Harrah's 4/02.

Nope, didn't see that. If that many bikers came into one I was in I'd respond with situational awareness and get out.

I see that AZ is included so do this mean a non-resident also? I do have a AZ permit and I do go the Vegas from time to time so it will be good to know this for me.
