Hello ill soon be moving to Pheonix AZ and I heard you can conceal without a permit but has anyone open carried without a problem in Arizona (without Permit):triniti:

Hundreds, if not thousands of people open carry in Arizona with no problem. Check out the Arizona sub forum at OpenCarry.org |.

I'm surprised Shoobee has posted here yet about how he and Scalia feel about open carry.

Scalia has said that outside of your home, the states, counties, and cities can make whatever rules they want.

This applies to open carry, concealed carry, or carrying it balanced on your head like a belly dancer at a Moroccan restaurant with her sword.

I often go from Nevada into northwestern Arizona's Gold Basin to hunt for meteorites. In the Mojave Desert, we have a particularly aggressive critter called the Mojave Green Rattlesnake (Google it). I always OC a .357mag loaded with snake rounds and my self-defense gun concealed.

I've never had an issue with anyone. I regularly stop on my way to a popular restaurant for breakfast, and nobody even looks twice.

USAHONORED,

I live part of the time in South Eastern AZ (Douglas, AZ). When there I OC literally 24/7's. OC is common and you'll not get hardly a glance except from some of the out of staters, snow birds and what not (Especially the Canuks and Kalifornians, they can be downright comical). Generally the LEO’s in AZ are friendly , at least I have never had a problem and I have carried all over the state. One of the great things about living in AZ is that you can OC in all the adjoining states, but check the regs.
My wife and I took off for drive for a week or so and went thru AZ, NV, UT , ID, WY and CO, I OC’ed each day.
One little Mexican kid about 6 years old at Walmart in Douglas asked me if I was cop, I answered him in Spanish…he laughed and said in English “Oh man gun, cowboy hat, bad Spanish…you must be Border Patrol!” he laughed and left me standing there laughing.
AZ is a great and gun friendly state.

I have opened carried in Arizona during the sixties and the only rule back then was you could not have a loaded firearm in a store or other places, of course back then the rules were not very restrictive. I was drafted in the Army in 1969 and stayed for fifteen years Honorable discharge on disability. Then worked for the DoD for another fifteen until the DOL said I was being let go on permanent disability and then left Kalifornia and back to Arizona in 2000 and I open carried for a few months that got my CCW and I still have my CCW today. Arizona laws when it comes to firearms are fairly lax, but their purchasing of firearms are still ran by the FBI Background checks. It take me with a CCW about twenty minuted to do the paperwork. The only suggestion I have is to read the signs on business', like restaurants, bars, etc. that posted signs saying NO GUN ALLOWED, these are legal and if you get caught you could pay dearly. Just abide by the laws of the state you should do alright. Just so you are up to date read up on our fairly new law that has been publicized is the "Stand Your Ground" law.

Good ol' Douglas. Onramp to the drug superhighway.
I grew up there.

Steve, are all those states you went through open carry states? Just curious. I've lost my link to the web page with the maps...
Cheers, Al

I live in Phoenix and OC all the time now. No one seems to have a problem with it. I do get a dirty look on rare occasions from a liberal who probably just moved here from Kalifornia. Since they screwed up their state they're migrating here and will probably try to screw this one up as well.

Their numbers are growing everyday in Arizona, they're already trying to screw things up.
