Are we required to inform of CC at a DHS suspicionless internal highway checkpoint?

I'm in Oklahoma, but occasionally want to freely travel to see my sister in Southern Texas. The Border Patrol under the DHS, operate suspicionless internal checkpoints in the 100 mile Constitution-free zone that unofficially detain American citizens to give us obedience training to keep us safe from terrorists.

YouTube is has a number of videos of people who are fed up with being detained on the highways for no reason and answer all their questions through a cracked window with, "am I being detained and am I free to go on my way?" without answering where they are coming from, where they are going and if they are a US citizen.

When we are stopped for an unconstitutional suspicionless internal checkpoint, are we required to inform them of possession of a firearm, which will certainly lead to a warrantless secondary inspection?

I would say no. Texas law requires a CHL holder to present his/her license to the officer along with their DL if carrying a gun when stopped for a traffic offence. However last year the legislature removed any penalty for not doing so. That's usually a precursor to a change in the law. The Border Patrol does not enforce traffic (or any state)laws, only federal laws, primarily immigration & drugs. However they have been known to detain those wanted for felonies and notify the local sheriff to pick them up.

Actually, it does not state a "traffic" offense. It does, however, state when approached by a Texas Peace Officer in the legal execution of his duties. I am a Texas citizen. I am also a Texas CHL holder. I would not notify a DHS agent, since he IS NOT a Texas Peace Officer.

Might if pulled to secondary inspection, for drive thru nope. On one trip dog alerted most likely due to week of camping clothing, secondary wanted to take pistol to office (cocked and locked 45) and "make safe", informed officer weapon was safe where it was on hip but agreed to let dog check me again to see if dog alerted to ammo. Went our merry way. These guys have a thankless job under pos president. Had a very nice conversation with them while dog sniffed around empty car and me. Peace, Love, Colt 45.
