About to buy a SW MP9c

Hello all,

I am about to buy a SW MP9c for my new CC. Sure would like to hear everyone's thoughts!

Bigger than I prefer for CC but I love my fullsize M&P9 with a passion for range time and home defense. Very good choice

It's a great gun. I liked my full size so much I had to buy the compact to go with it! Actually, I went to the gun store to buy a used G26 they had on consignment. When I got there, I looked at the M&P9c one last time and couldn't pass it up. It just felt better in the hand... to me.

It's between the G19 and G26 in size. Of course smaller would be easier to carry but concealing the M&P9c is not a problem.

Accurate, reliable, rugged, and priced right.

I feel it's a little bulky for CC unless it's winter and you're layered.

I've put about 1000rds through mine with no malfunctions.

Tell you what nick. I have a S&W M&P 9mm C and it shoots accurately, is a good lightweight daily carry (I take mine hiking and camping utilizing a N8 2 tactical IWB holster) and the ergonomics are great. Originally I was looking to purchase a Glock 19 but being a lefty the M&P seemed to work out for me better (mine has an ambidexterous safety, a changeable mag release and ambi slide lock...I think you'll be very happy if you buy one of these...

I own and carry a fullsize M&P 9 everyday. The firearm is amazing, I trust my life to it. I don't see the compact being any different. Good luck!

The compact handles very well. If at all possible, and if they've got more than one, it might be fair to ask to dry fire a few of them to pick the best trigger...that's about the only complaint I've heard about them. Of course, I'm up to 4 in the M&P line (and a .22) and never had any complaints about the triggers, so perhaps I've gotten lucky every time?

I own 4 M&P autos and that little 9c has become one of my favorites to shoot. I use mine with the standard compact magazine with pinky extension for daily carry, but will regularly switch over to the full-size 9mm magazines and use a rubber sleeve called an X-Grip that gives you the feel of a full-size M&P9 grip. Simply one of the funnest guns I've shot, hands down. Incredibly reliable and accurate, never a problem and I've sweated on it, shot it until it was almost too hot to touch and it never missed a beat. I'm around that 1,000 - 1,500 round mark with mine and it's never ever had an issue. Mine is one with the thumb safety and the more I shoot mine with it, the more I like my M&Ps that have one.

I carry mine daily in a Raven Phantom OWB holster on an Ares Gear belt and unless I start doing cartwheels, it disappears under a long t-shirt. Only my M&P45 ranks higher on my list of favorite guns that I shoot on a regular basis.

I love my M&P 9c. It hasn't had any issues in 775 rounds except for the front sight falling off..lol. I am waiting on my fourth front night sight. Aside from that it eats any and all ammo and is easy on recoil and accurate. It can be easily concealed.

While I don't personally own the M&P9c I do own the full sized version and find myself easily able to conceal it. With that being said, I am eyeballing the M&P9c for my next purchase since the magazines are interchangeable and am considering it as a back-up or primary carry whenever deeper concealment is needed. Carry the full-sized IWB, the compact on my ankle, and two full size magazines for a whopping 65 rounds of ammo........ for some reason I like the idea of that.
