Both occurred in Texas, both involved officers being shot and killed when they executed no-knock raids, and in neither case did police find what they were looking for.
The difference? One suspect was white, the other is black.
The charges against the white guy were dropped when the grand jury refused to charge him, while the black guy is facing the death penalty. Even the photos used by the press relating to the stories show racial bias, with the story about the white guy showing him playing with his toddler, while they use the mug shot for the black guy.
No-knock raids are getting officers killed and endangering innocent people and animals; to often, the charges upon which they are based turn out to be bogus.
Time to end the practice.

Thankfully, in Michigan (where I live) defending one's home under these circumstances is a recognized legal right.
