As this has come up many times, I assume it's an indictment disguised as a question. The response hasn't changed: No nonbeliever (not counting the small number of inevitable trolls) would insert him/herself into a private religious conversation. But posting religious rants, moralizings, prophesyings, tribulatings & rapturings, end-of-daysings, sermons, prayer requests, etc., in the "off-topic" section of a gun forum is not a private conversation. They are public statements in a public forum and as such, invite (hopefully and ideally responsible and respectful) dialogue and rebuttal to maintain balance...to prevent the the public forum from turning into a forum in name only...from turning into a place where one perspective can be aired without having to put up with inconvenient comments, corrections, and contrary perspectives. If the conspicuously religious want to have a discussion unfettered by those with differing perspectives, do it in one of the huge number of dedicated religious forums. But don't complain that you can't control the rights--and often the responsibilities--of others to provide counterpoint commentary in public places.
BTW, I don't recall ever seeing an anti-religion thread started here by an atheist, as opposed to the tsunami of religious threads that constantly pop up. If we were to start one, would the religious forum members refrain from chipping in with their two cents' worth of disagreement and more-than-occasional ad hominem attacks and virtriol?
