Happy Brother's Day To You
A veteran is someone who, at one point in his/her life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America," for an amount of "up to and including my life."

About 9% of the US population has served in the military. Just under one percent are serving on active duty today. These numbers are small but often it is the small things that nurture greatness. As our government is headed towards a most drastic reduction in our military capability at a time when we may be facing a growing worldwide threat from Russia, China and the Middle East, I worry that our culture has come to denigrate the contribution and sacrifice of those who serve. Bless you all.

You may have served in Combat or in non-combat. You may have retired out or you may have served for a short time.

You may have been a draftee or a volunteer. You may have served in the Corps, Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard or the Merchant Marines,

BUT YOU SERVED. YOU DID YOUR JOB HONORABLY and for that I am PROUD to call you Brother.

You may have served during Korea, WWII, Vietnam, Persian Gulf, Iraq or Afghanistan, But you served, you did not run.

You have a DD 214 with those words "HONORABLY DISCHARGED" two of the most noble words in the world.

Again I am proud to know each and every one of you.

Today is Band of Brothers' Day; send this to all your brothers, fathers, sons and fellow veterans you know. Happy Brothers' Day!

To the cool men that have touched my life: Here's to you!! I was never a hero, but I am thankful and proud to have served among them.

A real Brother walks with you when the rest of the world walks on you.

Send to all your Band of Brothers.

I am a retired GM employee and get emails from GM on their programs. Gm is offering a discount to all veterans. Here in the info that I got. So if anyone is looking to buy you should check this out. You may be able to have some money left over and be able to buy some more ammo or even a new gun.

We are proud to support all the servicemen and women who have sacrificed so much for our nation. In recognition of Military Appreciation Month, and through June 30, we are pleased to extend the GM Military Discount* to all veterans. They'll be able to save hundreds, even thousands, on an eligible,(1) new 2015 or 2014 Chevrolet, Buick, or GMC vehicle. And during May and June all Cadillac vehicles are included in the discount. Plus, combine it with Military Bonus Cash and most current offers to save even more. We encourage you to extend this token of our appreciation to anyone who is serving or has served.

Isn't GM one of the companies that stole money from the American people as a bailout?

I don't care about their discounts. I do not care for their business practices. The government gave them money (i.e. stole from the people). I don't care if they paid any or all of it back.

Wolf, I was not happy that GM took our money. Also I was not happy that my GM stock went bye-bye. I had bought GM stock while working there through their stock purchase program! Then obummer said I was a "rich" investor and the paper I held was only good for toilet paper! I lost all I had invested in GM stock. This is still a VERY sore subject for me.

But I was not trying to help GM here. My only thought here was to help a Vet if he wanted to buy a GM vehicle. If nobody wants to buy, then don't! But someone wants a GM truck or car I only wanted to try and help them save some money. This was the least I could do for my fellow Vets.

That's cool vern. I, as only one vet here, will never let GM see one cent from me... that is unless Big Brother takes it from me again. I, being supportive of all veterans, wanted to remind them of the shameless business practices of GM before they took advantage of this offer.

That's OK Wolf! I respect your position! No foul here! Each can do as they want. But the UAW was the big problem and then obummer gave them the company. Granted GM did sign contracts that they shouldn't have. But I have never been big on unions. They end up protecting people who are a drag on everyone. I have saw this first hand.

As I said my goal was to help any Vet who was going to buy GM save some money. I really do not know just how good the discount is but it would stop a lot of haggling at the dealer! We need to help each other all we can because obummer and his minions only want to help us into the grave as soon as they can!
