I take your statement at face value.
I don't need to nor would I 'research' your belief system. IOWs, no one impresses me.

No one impresses you? That's an extremely arrogant statement for a God-fearing man. I never told you to "research" me. I said if you're gonna criticize someone, at least know where they stand before you open your pie hole. See, I don't start an argument about oh, let's just say how Obama is running this country into the ground unless I know that they voted for Obama.

No, not arrogance. Poor or rich, homely or beautiful, powerful or weak...........everyone dies.......back to the dust.
In the meantime we all put our pants on one leg at at time.

When you're diagnosed with not one but two forms of cancer as I recently have been, then maybe you should be allowed to opine on the topic of death, as you are not facing it and I am. Having been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia AND malignant melanoma in the same day might make you rethink your belief in nothingness. I'd actually be surprised if you stuck to your beliefs since every atheist I've ever met who's stared even the prospect of death in the face decides to embrace Christ...those *******, right? Me...I don't know what's gonna happen, I'm not even fighting it because I watched my dad fight it for the better part of a decade and die in a nursing home with a brain tumor the size of a grapefruit. I take great offense to your pompous, arrogant supposition that there is nothing because that makes life essentially meaningless. My life...pointless as of right now, why even be born? Sure I have a wall of degrees and professional certifications, but I have no family of my own. In fact, I can't stand my family because they're all alcoholics or just want money...more like both. Atheism this convoluted de facto belief that life is pointless. It doesn't matter what you do. We all go to the same place according to you...the ground. Pol Pot, Stalin, Hitler, bin Laden, Mao, me, and you...all equals according to you. You won't cure cancer, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's or any other disease. Nor will you make a breakthrough in physics that puts Einstein's general theory to shame, so what have you contributed to humanity as a whole?

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis skinny. I pray the healing flow of our Lord and Savior Jesus the Messiah over your illness. May HE bring forth newness of LIFE and the resurrection of healthy cells & tissue in your body. For our Lord Jesus is the resurrection and the LIFE.

In the name of Jesus, I speak death & destruction by the power of the Holy Spirit and in the name above ALL names (even cancer) to all of the cancerous cells in your body; and I speak LIFE & resurrection to all part of your body the disease has affected.

There is NO death for those in Christ Jesus! There is healing and deliverance by HIS BLOOD and power & victory in HIS name. I plead the BLOOD of Jesus over you today and I pray the FATHER to heal you & deliver you from the hands of the enemy in JESUS name!

May God Bless & Heal you now skinny; I pray!

Amen!

Thank you for your blessings. Frankly I'm hoping the leukemia is a royal **** up, the Mayo Clinic made an erroneous diagnosis of a family friend, put him through hell then said "oh, oops, you were never sick." The melanoma...well if I don't have that crap removed I know what happens because I've had friends die of melanoma mets going to the brain and spine. So I'll get that taken care of since I don't wanna die the way my dad did. I'm just dealing with it. If I die from this, so be it because if God wants me, he'll take me. I'd MUCH MUCH prefer to live, but I do not fear death. Now, time to unify and fight for our God-given rights that are being systematically usurped by that con artist at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Twelve years ago I had a problem with my immune system. I was given about 15 rx meds & sent home to die because five so-called specialist and a major east coast medical university could do nothing to help me. My liver & kidneys ceased to function and I only had hours to live. But, I sought friends that believed in prayer and had a conversation with my FATHER. I told him I was ready to meet him ftf. But, if I told him if I hadn't yet fulfilled my mission I asked him to heal me so I could finish what HE called me to do.

God gave me a new liver & new kidneys. Today there is no trace of any damage. I still have some health issues that have kept me from working. But, God is using this time to prepare the way for me to begin a life of full-time evangelistic ministry.

God Bless & Heal you this day; in JESUS mighty name!
Amen

And that right there is why I believe in a higher power. I'm inferring that, from a purely statistical perspective, the odds of you surviving were so miniscule that it may as well have been zero. Yet here you are. My dad...I prayed for his suffering to end when he started to get really bad, it ended quickly afterward. He went from being able to walk to not being able to move his body in 7 months. He was this hardcore Army vet born in the 1930s, never expressed emotion (except anger) but finally admitted that knowing that he's going to die soon was, for lack of a better term, scary as hell since he wasn't a religious person. I don't believe one needs to go to church and read the Scripture to go to Heaven or whatever happens to us after "this," and I cannot stand people who try to frighten others into attending church services. God is not a tyrant. I think that's why he held on for so long even when doctors didn't give him a chance. Maybe he saw something that comforted him, I've heard stories of people seeing Angels prior to passing. I have no idea. I'm not scared of death, I'd just like to stick around for longer, simple as that. Your case is nothing more than a miracle. Livers are not easy to come by...no organs are.

I find it very ironic that many atheists convert to Christianity before they die. Back in high school, my friends dad passed away. He was an atheist all of his life, but was Baptized shortly before he passed away. He read the Bible cover to cover. He truly converted.

GETTING BACK TO.... God & the Bible, squaring belief with reality

Signs of the End of the Age & This Last Generation.

Obama, Netanyahu seem headed for US-Israel clash

"And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it" (Zechariah 12:3 ).

The Bible says that in the final hours of the countdown, Israel will stand alone against the whole world, with no one to turn to for provision and protection except the God of Israel. The conservative media should be screaming this fact to all the world: Israel just got dumped by America. This is more than an invitation to disaster; it is a slam dunk that we are on the road to a crisis. We have sold out our best friend. We have turned away our partner in the mad Middle East -- the only voice of reason and sanity amidst tens of thousands of sand and scorpion-infested miles. You can't turn on the Jewish nation just "a little bit." We're either with her or against her. America has decided. We're against her. God's Foreign Policy pertaining to Israel is this.."I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse" (Genesis 12:3) . Bad decisions have horrible consequences.

You're right skinny. You don't have to go to church or read scripture to be saved. But, there are some VERY good reasons to do both. One reason is we are told "not" to neglect gathering with other believers. We must also receive the WORD because HE is the Word. All of scripture points to this undeniable TRUTH.

That brings me to the most important reason to read scripture and attend church:

Being familiar with Scripture helps strengthen our FAITH so that when we are faced with a great trial, we can "know" our FATHER, our SAVIOR and our COMFORTER will be there for us.

ISRAEL-God's Prophetic Timepiece

January 18, 2013 -Jimmy De Young-

The former PM of Spain has quoted Russian President Vladimir Putin as saying Israel will take care of Iran.

Speaking at a recent gathering of politicos at the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, the former PM of Spain Jose Aznar said that Russian President Vladimir Putin told him not to worry about Iran because as Putin said, "Israel will take care of Iran". The former Spanish PM also held a meeting with the Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei who told Aznar that Israel was a historic cancer condemned to disappear and that it was inevitable that there would be an open confrontation between the Jewish state and Iran. The statement by Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei that it is inevitable, there will be a confrontation between Iran and Israel is biblically correct, but the endgame is different than the Iranian leader's claim of victory for his nation, that is according to Bible prophecy.

Two world leaders have voiced different opinions as how a confrontation between Israel and Iran militarily would come out. The supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei believes in such a conflict, Iran would make Israel disappear and he was working to that end. Russian President Vladimir Putin believes that Israel would take care of the Iranian nuclear problem which Putin says justifies the sell of any nuclear technology or military hardware to Iran. The ancient Jewish prophet Ezekiel wrote of this Iranian-Israeli conflict 2500 years ago in Ezekiel 38:5 when he mentioned Iran of today referred to in that passage as Persia in biblical times. Iran will be a member of the coalition of nations who align themselves against Israel to destroy the Jewish state, Ezekiel 38, Daniel 11, and Psalm 83. However, the endgame will be different than expected by Israel's enemies. Ezekiel 38:18-39:6 says that the Lord will intervene and wipe out not only Iran but all of Israel's enemies.

Where does the Bible say you have to read scripture to be saved?

Reading the Bible will NOT save you! Only a relationship with Jesus will insure your salvation.

We are told not to neglect the Word and we are promised blessings if we delight in it. If you are saying we must partake in the WORD (aka Jesus) for our salvation, then I'm on board. But, reading the Bible will in now way insure your Salvation. (There are a LOT of people that have read the Bible and are not saved.)

OK, so atheists aren't welcome here?

I get the impression that the loud, bible-thumping religious extremists, annoying and amusing (and highly predictable) as they are, are fortunately not representative of rational and tolerant people who hang out in the guns and carrying parts of this forum. I suspect there are lots more religiously-tolerant, non-religious, and non-believers in this and most other gun forums. Speak up and ignore the religiously-based contempt, bible quotes, and ad hominem attacks you'll get from the predictable loud few. II suspect they have to behave that way to keep face with each other.

Most who think they are 'saved' are not.

Salvation is a lifelong process, requires God's knowledge, repentance, and obedience.
The bible is the mind of God, you have to know His Word.

I couldn't care less about your religious beliefs. You could believe that Papa Smurf pulls the strings, whatever, that's part of what makes America great (along with the rest of the First Amendment and Constitution as a whole). What I and others do not tolerate is relogious intolerance and disrespect of others' beliefs. I'll disagree with you but I'm not gonna go all ape unless I'm disrespected. You can have a civil argument, you're welcome here as far as I'm concerned. It's when it turns into "you're an idiot for believing in God (Allah, whatever)" when I take offense and the excrement will hit the fan. I'm an equal opportunity loud mouth when it comes to religious zealots...I will put a Lutheran (Methodist, whatever) in their place just as quickly as I will an atheist or Mormon. Especially a Mormon missionaries because I've been harassed by them when I was in college ("I've gotta go to class" and they just ignore me) and while I'm working outside at my house ("look I gotta get this done" and they ignore me until I tell them to leave or I will have them arrested).

The true beauty of the Book is that each person may interpret it in a different manner. In the literal, fundamental sense, that it is a code of conduct for society, or anywhere in the middle wbich is where I stand. You cannot cherrpick though. Do you believe that the Earth is at most 10,000 years old? Do you beliece in the literal account of the Great Flood? If so, then I stand corrected. Your literal interpretation of the Bible essentially depicts God as a tyrannical dictator. In that case I guess I'm just a heathen destined for eternal damnation because I don't spend my Sunday mornings in the pews and read the Bible on a regular basis or have dog eared the pages containing my favorite verses.

Friday at dusk till dusk on Saturday is the Sabbath (seventh day, 4th Commandment). Sunday is the day of sun worship (heathen, pagan, anti-christ).
.
The earth may very well be tens of millions of years old. Adam and Eve are not the first human creatures but he first in God's image, spiritual humans able to communicate with God.
.
Yes on the flood. Also note that God Himself was grieved that a GREAT evil had taken over the earth. Lucifer and his demons had meddled with the seed of God, God had to bind the worst of the demons.
.
The Genesis depiction of the 'creation' of earth is not a creation but a re-creation. The earth has be destroyed at least three time.........and will again.
.
The tree of knowledge was not a tree. (understand the banishment of Lucifer and the 1/3 of the angles to the earth possibly millions of years before Adam) (I suspect you may know where this is going?)
.
Yes, much of the bible is to be taken literally, particularly God's Commandments and His ordinances.

London warns of ‘perfect Mideast storm,’ calls for intense peace push
UK foreign secretary calls on Obama to launch renewed peace drive of type not seen since 1993 Oslo accords
.

The British foreign secretary warned of the dire consequences of letting the current turmoil in the Middle East continue unabated Thursday, calling on the US to lead a renewed drive for peace of the type not seen in decades.

“2013 will be a crucial year in the Middle East,” William Hague said at the Menzies Research Centre in Sydney, where he delivered the John Howard lecture. “We could see a perfect storm of crises converging if the conflict in Syria continues, the Middle East peace process remains stalled, and if Iran will not enter into meaningful negotiations over its nuclear program.”

Hague said US President Barack Obama should take charge and launch an intense drive for peace matching that of the last major Israeli Palestinian breakthrough in 1993.

“Before long, a two-state solution could be made impossible by facts on the ground,” Hague said. “We recognize the immense obstacles to the peace process, not least of all the role of Hamas in Gaza. But still, we believe that it must be a priority for President Obama’s re-elected administration to launch a new effort to start the peace process, greater in intensity than anything seen since the Oslo Accords.” (Zechariah 12:3).."And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it".

“This is a tall order, but the situation is urgent and the consequences of failure extremely grave,” he added.

Hague also said the international community should be prepared to step up its response in Syria, including providing “life-saving help and assistance to the Syrian opposition”. 2013 cannot be the year in which another 60,000 Syrian civilians perish,” he said. (Isaiah 17..An Oracle Concerning Damascus)... "An oracle concerning Damascus. "Behold, Damascus will cease to be a city and will become a heap of ruins. 2 The cities of Aroer are deserted; they will be for flocks, which will lie down, and none will make them afraid. 3 The fortress will disappear from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus; and the remnant of Syria will be like the glory of the children of Israel, declares the LORD of hosts. At evening time, behold, terror! Before morning, they are no more"!
