I was wanting to hear from Walther PPS owners... Have you had any problems to date?
Nope - one failure to feed when my 12 yo son was shooting it. Slight modification of grip and discussion about "firmness" and no subsequent problems. Approximately 500 rounds through it, mostly 115 gr Federal white box, 115gr Winchester white box, some 115gr federal champion, and about 40 rounds of Hornady CD 115gr which is current carry ammo, but soon to be changed.
Are they really as accurate as I hear they are? I was very interested in this gun when it came out and still am. I may be in a position to buy one soon! Thank you.
Yes, I think it is. The gun is easily better than I am. Most of our shooting has been at an outdoor range at 12 yards. Easily can keep all shots in 8" target even doing some reasonably quick follow up shots, 1 handed shots, off hand shots, etc. If I really try, I can maintain much smaller groupings that that while still learning the gun and getting back into shooting after a 15 year+ hiatus.
Overall I can't recommend this gun highly enough. It is a pleasure to shoot, conceals very well, gives lots of options for magazine size, and I frankly LOVE the operation of the pistol including the magazine release. We like it so much we will be purchasing another 9mm version for my wife in the next week or so, and very likely will be purchasing a PPQ 9mm for a higher capacity carry and home defense option in the very near future. The PPQ is nearly operationally identical so would make a good tactical companion I think!
Go for it. Shop around a bit and you should be able to find one out the door with tax, etc, or get one shipped to your FFL, for around $525-540. I did some dealing at the local gun show a month or so ago for mine and got it for $495 cash + $5 check fee and state sales tax...
I am VERY happy with this purchase.
Good luck.
