Year South Carolina passed concealed carry?

I've been trying to find what year SC. passed the concealed carry bill. All I get is about the restaurant bill etc. that was just passed. I got mine within that first year. But I can't for the life of me remember how many times I've renewed it. Anybody know?

Yep, thanks hobo. As it is, my 'wife' found it for me later on in night. I can't believe time has gone by so fast.

Passed on the very last day of the legislative session of 1995. Went into effect January 1, 1996.

Thanks, I'm not very good on this thing. If I get stumped  I let my Wife do the finger walking. Plus there is always someone on the forum who would know.

South Carolina had Conceal Carry for a while but as a May Issue State.
In 1996 it became a Shall Issue state.
Found the link Radical Gun Nuttery!

There have been many changes to the SC CC/Self Defense laws, especially in 2006.

i believe in 2004 south carolina became a "shall issue" state, before that it was "may issue" state.:butcher:

Off the subject a bit but it amazed me the letters in the paper that followed the recent passage of the current firearm law. Literally every comment begins with the "drunken shootout at the OK Corral" scenario, without a hint of intelligence or reason other than what they get from the papers and our dear federal government who have their own agenda that these idiots will only understand the day they wake up in a 3rd world socialist pile of manure or are attacked and harmed while they wait for the vaunted police who are always minutes away. I doubt if my explanations to many are even listened to when I explain that all the laws you can come up with do not equate to a "criminal" who, by definition, does not care about the law, or a nut case, who, by definition, has only one oar in his rowboat; the fact that literally every "shoot out" involves an illegal gun by an illegal gun carrier or a legal gun in the hands of an illegal gun carrier or nut case means nothing to these letter writers. I try to explain that the new law now allows me to retrieve my car in a dark parking garage or dark street after dining in a nice restaurant or even a bar (good food and entertainment) without a drink with some ability to protect myself while the police are still minutes away. Having it under my seat and not strapped into my body with a safety belt is also a big plus that falls on deaf ears among these sorry people. Nough said--I feel better--sorry if you consider this a hijack.

Down here in Clemson a restaurant owner put a very derogatory sign in his window.I forget what it initially said but I guess it can be found somewhere.

Here is a link to the story of the restaurant. Here is the link on another thread on this story.
