Walmart signage

Ammo counters at two local Walmarts now reflect three box limit only on .22LR. Definite change from last weekend, when everything was still limited. Almost every other caliber now represented on the shelves. Good to see the stock flowing back with some consistency.

The Walmart in Brooksville, Fl is still lacking in the ammo dept. I check every 3 days or so. Even my favorite gun shop Fort Huffstetlers did not have the ammo I wanted for practice. Oh well I will keep looking!

Same sign in Auburn, WA. Alas, however, as that section of shelving is empty!

No signage here in KY, but they would need to have ammo on the shelves in order to limit it. Surrounding gun stores have ammo along with the local Cabelas, but Walmart is still majorly lacking here.

I don't even check my LGS for ammo, as they've been seriously gouging in prices since this all started. Farm & Fleet has been getting lots of stock back, and their prices have come down some, too. For a while, they were just as bad. They still have a four box limit posted, although the shelves and stocked full. And yeah, .22LR seems to still be majorly lacking representation everywhere here in Western WI.

Wal-mart in Delaware no longer sell rifles or any regular amount of rifle or pistol ammo. once in a while you can find a little .22, 9mm, .40, .45, etc. at a store here or there, but gone are the days you could go to Wal-mart and expect to see shelves stacked with ammo. This is directly related to Gov. Markell and AG Beau Biden (yes he's the son of Joe Bozo the Clown Biden) making a law that all gun stores had to do FFL transfers for anybody if the store sold ammo. In the past they only did this for their own sales of guns and they would then escort you and you gun purchase out of the store. Under the new law, people would be coming in to get FFL transfers, possibly carrying load guns, which to their way of thinking, could endanger their customers and make Wal-mart liable. When they do get a few boxes of ammo in it is gone in a few hours and there is a 3 box limit.
I live in the middle of the state and am not far from stores in Maryland where you can still buy ammo. Then there are also the local gun shops than have ammo at inflated prices. The law says there is a $35.00 max fee for a FFL transfer, but gun shops are still charging $50.00 and up in some cases.

No sign here, but was told by the sales clerk the 3 o limit is now only for .22lr. Lots of .45, 223, 30-06, various shotgun shells, but still short on 9mm (except for home defense rounds). However, if you get there before 7 am they usually get about 9 boxes of .22lr and sell out pretty quick.

I haven't been by to check lately. Hope to this weekend. When I do make it to Walmart,
I head straight to the ammo section and then if there is ammo, I text my Wife so she
can come by and buy her 3 box limit too.

Homosassa Walmart has most everything... except 22lr.

We have everything but 22LR and limited 9mm last time I checked. and yes, there are box limits. Its better than it used to be. Why is 22LR in such high demand? I realize it cheap and great for plinking, etc. But with it not being the preferred round to put your life on, seems like there would be a higher demand for the caliber you carry, that's what we should be practicing with, right?? Unless you do a lot of squirrel hunting. Or is it the whole 'gotta have it, gotta have it" factor?

There are a number of reasons it originally "went short." First, a lot of shooters are using it for practice these days, as it is still cheaper than other cartridges. Second, when it looked like the Shumer was going to hit the fan about 14 months ago, many of the followers of J.W.Rawles at SurvivalBolog.com (and he has millions of followers) all went out and raided the stores. Third, manufacture of 22LR has been pretty close to maxed out for a few years, so once it "went short" it stayed short. Forth, it appears a lot of people gave their sons, daughters, and wives 22 rifles for Christmas, as there was a sudden shortage of them right after Christmas (I gave ammo for Christmas), and all the new rifle owners went out and bought some, putting us deeper into shortage territory. And so, it keeps on going short. I got some on line, and some from the stores last year. And I am beginning to substitute "Crossman ammo" for some of my training.

last i checked with our WalMart was about 2 weeks ago, and the shelves are almost bare in Bloomsburg PA. It's been that way for a long time now. It's almost a waste of time even going there to look for ammo.

Are you talking about fust 22LR or all ammo?

For the most part, ammo is availble in most calibers except 22LR, although I noticed places like Academy are stocking almost all defense ammo, since the profit margin is higher, and a lot of us are getting our practice ammo from warehouses on the Net.
