Designed by legendary H&K gunmaker Ernst Mauch, the iP1 first appeared in the US in .22 - and was met with withering protests that basically drove them out of the market. Now, Mauch, the man who designed the H&K416 used by SEAL Team 6 to kill bin Laden, is personally coming to the US in September to meet with law enforcement officials in the hope of convincing them that the 9mm version of his smart gun will be safer to use and nearly impossible to take from officers and used against them. The long term goal - convince the average firearms owner that if the gun is safe enough and tough enough to be used by police, then it is good enough for them, too.

Get ready for round 2! They aren't giving up.
