The great state of Texas welcomes gun companies wth open arms.

If Governor Rick Perry has his way, the state of Texas may have a new nickname ; "The Guns & Ammo State".

Beretta and Magpul may ultimately decide to pull up their stakes and head to Texas...And they won’t be the first company in the gun business to do this. Late last month, Shield Tactical (a firearms accessory manufacturer and training company) announced plans to move its entire operation to Shiner, Texas. From Shield Tactical’s Facebook page:

Shield Tactical is pleased to announce that we are moving our retail division to Shiner, Texas. We are pleased to have neighbors such as TBRC and the Spoetzl Brewery (home of Shiner Beer). Shipping etc will not be substantially affected.

Our training division will remain in CA until the legislature outlaws everything.

When the company went public with news of the move, it was immediately welcomed by Texas Governor Rick Perry and many members of the pro-Second Amendment community.

I laughed when I read CA Gov Brown's remarks.... he's such a liberal fool! Three cheers for Governor Perry! Maybe he'll veto any stupidity that could possibly make it thru the liberal side of Texas Legislature.
Now... I gotta look up Shiner, TX in my travel atlas.... :eek:)

Hahaha sounds like someone is a little butthurt that Gov. Perry upstaged him in his own backyard.

Texas has more gun-free zones than New York. Those companies are moving because of economics, not because of the 2A.

If the cared about the 2A they would have told Perry "we'll move to Texas as soon as you and the legislature eliminate the list of mass-murder zones"

Here's a list of Texas gun free zones you won't find in NYS law:

(b) A license holder commits an offense if the license holder intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly carries a handgun under the authority of Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code, regardless of whether the handgun is concealed, on or about the license holder's person:
(1) on the premises of a business that has a permit or license issued under Chapter 25, 28, 32, 69, or 74, Alcoholic Beverage Code, if the business derives 51 percent or more of its income from the sale or service of alcoholic beverages for on-premises consumption, as determined by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission under Section 104.06, Alcoholic Beverage Code;
(2) on the premises where a high school, collegiate, or professional sporting event or interscholastic event is taking place, unless the license holder is a participant in the event and a handgun is used in the event;
(3) on the premises of a correctional facility;
(4) on the premises of a hospital licensed under Chapter 241, Health and Safety Code, or on the premises of a nursing home licensed under Chapter 242, Health and Safety Code, unless the license holder has written authorization of the hospital or nursing home administration, as appropriate;
(5) in an amusement park; or
(6) on the premises of a church, synagogue, or other established place of religious worship.

Hello, Browneyes... That's because Texas is about three times as big as New York! Naturally it's going to have more of those fedederally mandated zones.
You just can't fix stupid.
