Scope Opinions

I'm considering two scopes. Either the Nikon Laser IRT 4-12x42 or the Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14x40. The IRT is twice the money but ads range finding, not that I desperately need that. What I'm wondering is if the optical performance is better on the IRT than the Buckmaster, range finding aside.

The IRT definitely has the cool factor, but that extra $300 could be spent on something else. If I don't need rangefinding and the optical performance is about the same........Just thinking out loud. I don't hunt and I don't a range finder to tell me that the target at the range is 100 yards away.

What do you all think?

No rangefinder

Rangefinder tech is changing all the time so I would suggest getting the standard scope and pick up a separate rangefinder.

I prefer variable power scopes. Use a lower power setting for shooting and dial it up to a higher power to check details of your shots. Like Jes said, get a seperate rangefinder.
