My first two guns I bought back in the early years were a Ruger MKII and a Taurus .357 revolver. I had nothing but trouble with the Ruger, and being a new shooter, I was afraid of it with all of the ftf & fte problems.:help:

Not to change the subject but, if you have not already, try CCI Mini-Mags in the little Ruger. They are a higher quality than the bulk pack ammo a lot of people use. I've got a Mark 1 that had occasional problems. Not enough to be a major problem considering it's not an SD gun but annoying nontheless. I took it to shoot at a local indoor range - Allen Arms in Greenville - and mentioned the problem. The salesman suggested I try the mini-mags. I did and they worked well - no issues in 100 rounds. Not really conclusive but something to think about.
Not necessarily true if the gun is out of battery, possibly due to pressure against the muzzle during a scuffle.
