What a miscarriage of justice. Criminals in NY can get away scott free with the amnesty turn in program. They are allowed to turn in guns with no questions asked. Why can't an otherwise law-abiding citizen who inadvertenly has possession of a gun be able to do the same? Just another example of why NY city is a haven for criminals while honest folks are treated like trash.

I made 2 trips in 1 to New York, my first and last.

There has never been and never will be an actual trail for these type of charges in NYC, unless it is tied to another crime like a shooting or robbery etc.
The Administration knows that if it ever goes to trail and the law is found to be a violation of Civil rights they will be liable for millions.
The people in this circumstance must be plea bargained down and the lawyers know it. (at $500 per hour of course)
The City knows that their current Stop and Frisk practice will fail under any real judicial scrutiny. Once that is found to be illegal, any and all previous arrests will have to be nullified. (imagine how much that will cost)
Oh what a tangled web they have woven.
