Digressing a bit,

Never, ever expect someone else to give you freedom and Liberty. You, yes you, must stand for your own and fight with everything you have if you expect to live a truly free life. Otherwise, you will live out your limited days with only the semblance of freedom, a mask pulled over your face to block out the reality of the situation and you'll be given convenience and comfort to pacify your yearnings. The truth is that most people don't want freedom, can't handle it and know that if they were ever given it they would perish b/c they couldn't make it on their own or support someone else taking it from those that have it to be given to them (sound familiar?). Freedom and Liberty are rarely understood by today's people, most of us wouldn't know what to do with it... most would sit there confused, waiting for somebody to tell them what to do with their time.

How many of you have been to a circus before? Did you see any trained animals? Bears? Elephants? Tigers? You know what you didn’t see? Sheep. You know why? Because sheep are stupid. And God says, “That’s you.” Sheep are dumb, stubborn, and willful. Even when they have a shepherd around they’re not safe because they still get lost, get drowned, and get trapped. Pick another animal. Any other animal. A rat! Sure, they’re flea infested, disease-carrying scavengers, but at least rats are smart. But God says, “Nope. You’re a sheep.” We surely didn't get into this dire situation we're currently in because we're smart, and we're surely not going to get out of this dire situation because we're smart, quite to the contrary. Now you also know why the End of "The Book" reads the way it does.

Ringo, you're quite correct in all respects.
I'd like to elaborate on this subject - thought about this whole line of thinking a lot.
Americans were once agronomic, working side by side as family or close friends, in the fields, dependent upon God alone for decent crops to provide. Independence and self reliance were about as pure and taken for granted as it could get - a freedom which urbanites, then and now, lack the tools and history to understand. The Industrial Revolution changed all that - the only fault of these godly souls was buying the sell that, "we'll [industrialists] guarantee you steady income regardless the weather and how well the crops do - just come to our cities and factories, suck it up and start liking repetitive mindless assembly-line work, and we'll cover your existence needs; your sense of independence, naturally, must be forfeited. You know the rest - the Industrial Revolution followed and coupled with the Technological Revolution - WWII added to the fast-morphing society, women rising to meet the needs of factory production, women's rights, etc., [justifiably so, but not assumed to be the "feminists," Marxists later to opportunistically steal the rightful women's advancement ] contemporaneously dealing with racial unrest through the 50s and 60s resulting in superficial "fixings" pouring money via the "Great Society" [The Projects] into every major American city which turned 60% - 70% of the black community into drug dealers and babies-without-fathers-factories, Uncle Sam becoming their default father. End: 1970 to present. The liberal solution, through both political parties and administrations, perpetuated this slavery of not only blacks but from all ethnicity who are solicited and seduced to believe "freedom" is derived from government - and so, no need to fight for it - just grab the stuff our Uncle Sam advertised and promised to give us if we simply vote for his selections and constantly cry racial victim-hood every time something doesn't go our way. And so liberty, in this post-constitutional era, is defined as internet freedom, choice of fast-food places, tattoos up the wazoo, rap until you crap -and even into the more acceptable substitutes for freedom, promulgated by Media - 24x7 entertainment and 24x7 news - become 24x-gods - after all, "gods" are whom we dedicate the bulk of our time.
