You overlooked the part about needing to demonstrate that you actually can walk on water, that you're joined at the hip with a NJ Supreme Court Justice or are married to the Chielf of Police in your town, and/or that you make so much money you can buy the freaking town and make your own rules.
Anyone else need not apply.
Unearthed, perhaps you could share a few of the details about how they achieved this miracle. Are they "connected", politically? Mafiosi, perhaps? What you're saying is nothing short of unbelievable, unless there's some overriding circumstance which you have to consider. Think about it and please...if you can...let us know.
Here is the link the NJ carry permit...be aware that by trying to submit it will only result in the wasting of your time
http://www.njsp.org/info/forms.html#firearms
"Application must be delivered, in triplicate, to the Chief of Police of the municipality wherein you reside, or to the Superintendent of State Police in all other cases. A money order in the amount of $20.00 payable to
State of New Jersey must accompany this application.
Answer all questions. If more space is needed, attach bond paper. Page two must be completed. Four photographs of the applicant, one and one-half inch square, head and shoulders, no hat, light background, taken within the last 30 days must accompany this application."
Unearthed, I would very much like to know what your aunt and uncle wrote on their letters.
I didn't even realize this thread was still going. I'm honestly not sure what they wrote on any letters or applications. Maybe they are lying...I dunno. I've certainly seen what my uncle referred to as his permit, it has a fingerprint of his index finger on it.
Oh, and they answer phones for a large company and are hardly rich or connected.
Sounds to me like a basic firearms ID card. That allows you to purchase and possess firearms, and to carry rifles and shotguns for lawful purposes (such as hunting). It does not entitle the owner to generally carry a firearm on his person in public, and therefore is not a carry permit.
I've seen a carry permit issued by NJ, and it had a photo on it, not a fingerprint.
