New ordinance could affect sports

Is it possible that many sporting events in Meridian Mississippi may be in jeopardy? Just read the gist of a new ordinance passed by the city council. The footnote to the list of banned items from all city property including public parks reads "any other item of any kind or nature that could or may be used as a weapon." Can't help but wonder if ball bats, golf clubs and hockey sticks fall into this category.

Looks like good grounds to overturn the ordinance.

Or call the cops the first time you see a ball game at a city park.

This could be another case of a bad law backfiring, like the background check fiasco in CO that halted gun "buybacks".
