If that bill passed - as written.. It would do a few things to benefit Michigan far beyond other states..
1) it states guns/ammo/etc manufactured in state are "legal" to own no matter what federal law states.. (ie instant repeal of federal machinegun bans and other bans?) A personal firearm, a firearm accessory, or ammunition that is manufactured commercially or privately in Michigan and that remains within the borders of Michigan is not subject to federal law or federal regulation,
2) would instantly entice gun manufacturers to coming to Michigan to build GUNS (and side benefit accessory manufacturers / ammo producers) since it would make legal any gun made in Michigan Exempt from federal laws. this would actually mean jobs, from construction of facilities to build/manufacture, to jobs building/manufacturing guns/ammo.
3) Would totally piss off the federal morons in charge and blow off the BATF..
4) would dump some money into the MI economy by stimulating sales and providing jobs (jobs = taxable income) and since people have to eat, have a place to stay, etc - it would increase property values as more houses sold, not to mention the influx of people who would move to Michigan just to enjoy its new law..
