Magazine Extenders for M&P Bodyguard

I've seen two advertised that add one round to the standard mag. One replaces the stock spring, the other adds length to the stock mag by replacing the base plate. Any experience with either route? Does the latter weaken the spring tension and affect feed? Why doesn't somebody combine the two and provide an 8 round solution? (I'm not interested in the 10 and up solutions I've seen. Look sketchy and defeat the potential of concealment.)

I have used Magguts on two of my handguns with great results. My Shield 9 mm 7 round mags are both now 9 round and my Kahr CT380 7 round mags are now both 8 round. They both have a few hundred rounds through them and have been 100% reliable. The Shield does combine both a new spring and an extension about 1/4" longer in length which give enough to give a place for your pinky finger.
