June, '23: 5x5x5 drill

May I add one? It's fairly simple but a great skill assessment tool, especially when shot cold, say the beginning of a range session.

Basically, five rounds at five yards into a five-inch circle in five seconds, from the draw. When shooting at a range that doesn't allow drawing from a holster, I cut the time to three seconds.

Shoot the drill three times, or at least at the very beginning of a practice session the at the end.

This is a great drill, but some ranges (PSA, f'rinstance) not only allow no shooting from the draw, but also no rapid fire beyond 2 or 3 rounds. Still a good drill if you just lean on the accuracy side for now and put off the time test until you can really do it.

I don't think 5 rounds in 5 seconds is rapid fire
