how to change a magazine catch?

how hard is it to change a magazine catch on a s&w m&p 40 compact? im supposed to be getting a new one after my mags.started popping out on there own.figured if i coulkd do it myself i would.

It is easy to do. The mag release is made to be taken out and reversed.
I had the same problem with my 9mm compact. It would drop the full size mag after each shot. The compact mags work fine though. It started doing it again the last time I went to the range. I think it is time for me to sell it and join the Glock fan club.
