Picked it up this past Friday...my one dream rifle, M1 Garand, Birthday November 1944. Used to march with the M1 in high school ROTC in the 60's then in Navy boot in 1970. Qualified with the M1 in basic. Got to shoot her on Saturday....wow, how sweet it is!!! pingggggg
I too carried a Garand in boot camp and what I want to know is who's bright idea was it to fill the barrel and clip well with lead? It made the dang thing about 4lbs heavier.
I don't know if that is considered firearm sexting or not. She is a Springfield with the low 3 millions sn. I suspect it has an after market stock as I found no maker stamps on the wood but she is still the sweetest little thing.

Looks like the Italian .308 stock that was sold back to the US, to then have a 1" spacer added to the lower stock where the sling attachment is to accommodate the original .30-06 receivers. I have the same type of stock on my Garand... it may not be ALL original but it's still cool in its own right.
