I just want to let my fellow Georgia 2A supports know that there will be a Friends of NRA fundraising banquet in Marietta on March 16th. There will also be one in Covington on March 25th. These events are a good time. The proceeds raised go to support the NRA Foundation, not the NRA. Money is use provide funding for youth sport shooting events, public access ranges, college scholarships and grants. Again, these events are a great time, and you just might walk away a winner of one of the many raffles. There are also auctions with items that are only available at Friends of NRA events. Also, some friends of NRA groups are setting up facebook pages in order to communicate with members. Search "South Metro Friends of NRA", "Cobb Friends of NRA", or "East Metro Friends of NRA".
March 18th: South Metro Friends of NRA will be having a meeting at the Golden Corral in McDonough GA (next to Sam's Club) at 6 PM. This meeting is to provide information to those who might be interested in becoming a volunteer on the committee, and to begin planning and preparation for this year's annual banquet. This coming Thursday 8/12 there will be a Friends of NRA banquet in McDonough Georgia. There will be numerous firearms raffled off and more up for auction. The headcount is predicted to be less than 100, so odds are good that attendees will be winners. Among the firearms up for raffle are an AK-47, Henry Golden Boy (Boy Scouts Centennial) .22, Ruger LCR, Weatherby SA-08. Additional firearms that will either be auctioned or raffled include a Glock 22 40S&W, Taurus .357 revolver, Remington 700 in .300 Winchester magnum, Kimber 84M .308 and more. Admission is $25.00.
