Experience w/ Cabarrus Sheriff permit process

I know I'm a little late, but wanted to get my wife a carry gun for her birthday late next week, but forgot that I have to go to the Cabarrus Sheriff to get the permit first. Anyone have experience with how long it takes them to turn the purchase permits around? (I leave my thoughts about the constitutionality of permitting aside...)

Should be a matter of 3 days or less. If you don't plan on getting a CHP soon, might want to ask for more than just one purchase permit.
