I am thinking of switching my CC to a .45. I don't want to spend more than $600 (for now). Any suggestions? I'm currently looking at a Taurus 845, anyone have any personal experience with this one?

No but highly recommend a Springfield V10 or a full size 1911 MIL-SPEC. Price is right as well as quality of product.

I really enjoy my Springfield XDs 45. Shoots well for me and just the right size for my everyday carry.....

STI, RIA make good weapons at a low price point

Update: I am sticking with 9mm for now. I found a really good deal on a Taurus 809. $430 after taxes. But I'll keep all the advice for future consideration. Thanks everyone.

Take a look at Stoeger. I have one in 9mm, 40 S&W and 45 ACP. They run $400 or less and are excellent handguns. I carried my 45 in a IWB hybrid holster for years without any problems. Hard to beat this model for the money.

This is one of the approved firearms in our county's Sheriff's Department. I've seen it go through it's paces in training and qualifications.
