Bullet weights and accuraccy

I have noticed that the accuracy of my Glock 27 gets better with heavier bullets like the 180gr. I shoot my own reloads for all of my IDPA/USPSA events. Normally I use Berry's 155gr RNHB bullets with 6.0gr of HP-38/Win-231 powder but recently found a great deal on some 165 and 180gr FMJ's that were cheaper. Made some test loads today and boy was I surprised. The 165's held a tighter pattern than the 155's and the 180gr bullets were even tighter. Going to run some through the G22 tomorrow but it seems logical to me that if the G27 shoots the heavier ones more accurately then I should have similar results with the G22. Or maybe the plated bullets are not really that good of a deal. Has anyone had a similar experience?

Generally speaking, a longer, heavier, faster bullet will perform better than a shorter, lighter, slower one.

That's why rockets are shaped like they are.
