Anti-gun Surgeon General nominee on hold

OK, how many believe this to be the reason for the hold. How many expect his appointment to take place during the next Congressional Recess as Bummer does so often.

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that the Obama administration is putting the nomination of Vivek Murthy as U.S. Surgeon General on hold because of a lack of support in the Senate - even among many Democrats - specifically because of his support for gun control (Op-Ed: Obama?s surgeon general nominee Dr. Vivek Murthy is a radical gun grabber | Buckeye Firearms Association).

The White House's decision to tap the brakes on its nomination of Vivek Murthy as U.S. Surgeon General is casting fresh doubt on its ability to navigate resistance within the president's own party. As many as 10 Senate Democrats potentially oppose Dr. Murthy because of his support for gun control. The White House is being forced to rethink its strategy over his nomination less than two weeks after the Senate derailed the president's pick for a top Justice Department nominee. This comes after the Senate changed the chamber's rules to make it easier to bypass GOP objections for such nominations.

Surgeon General nomination forces Senate Democrats to hide gun views

Here's their latest deception. President Obama’s nomination of Dr. Vivek Murthy to be surgeon general is in trouble, because the National Rifle Association decided that it was going to “score” the vote – that is, let its members know which senators voted for someone they believe is a threat to people being able to own guns for self-defense.
The New York Times reported late Friday: “Three Democratic Senate aides with knowledge of where members stood on the nomination said Friday that enough Democrats could oppose Dr. Murthy that he would most likely fail to be confirmed if a vote were held soon.”
Not wanting to put Democratic senators from conservative states in a difficult position, word started leaking out late Monday that Democrats want to delay the vote until after the midterm elections in November.
Democrats apparently believe that, with their re-election behind them, they will then be safe to vote to confirm Murthy.
