New 9mm round

What's awesome about it? It costs more than conventional ammo. It breaks apart in many pieces and can go in God knows how many directions. It, as the video announcing it showed, can actually break off and fly out of the intended target making it more of a liability for the the shooter. It has feeding problems in some firearms.

What exactly is awesome about this round? Ooooh, yeah, it looks cool. /sarcasm/

In my world form follows function as a rule. But to each their own.

Well....then don't get them. What the heck's to argue about. What ever trips yer 'trigger'.

There's a good initial review here:

G2 Research's RIP Ammo - Ballistic Testing, Phase One | The Truth About Guns

My take on the round is that it's basically another high-velocity, lightweight bullet design that mostly interacts with the target in roughly the first 5-6 inches through its copper fragments.

Ammo that jams a Glock 19 is worrisome, but we really need to see a wide range of guns and shooters test this ammo for reliability.

New technology is great, but self-defense ammo is a conservative, proven-performance buying decision for me. YMMV.

There's nothing to argue about. I've just seen years go by and there is always someone jumping on the bandwagon of the latest doo-dad of engineering in ammunition technology and every time it seems as if all the ammunition world did is dupe firearms owners into thinking this is the bestest baddest most awesomest round ever. Ummm, yeah, no it's not. This is the reason I publicly posted the article showing some of its deficiencies, to help firearms owners not be duped by yet again another "latest and greatest".

If you still want to go out and spend your money on this, by all means, I won't rain on your parade. But you've been warned. I'm just a guy that is trying to help his brothers (and sisters) in arms.

OK.
